You like old folks, cause they keep you feeling young.

DnvrFox 05-14-08 02:49 PM

Well, should we make this a "sticky?" A sort of sub-forum of 50+?

Seems like we have about 10 of us 65+'rs responding (or so) - and a whole lot of 65-'rs.

Road Fan

Actually, I think the definition of baby boomers is people born between '46 and '64.

Hey, it's exactly like when the little kids want to ride in the back of my school bus, I tell them "Your day will come."

Louis 05-14-08 07:46 PM

Is this the grown ups clubhouse?

Finally, we can get away from those dang kids and all their monkeyshines. You ever see how they act, some of 'em? Disgraceful, I tell you, downright disgraceful. And that music...ever hear that music they play? Gives me a headache whenever I hear it. They oughta outlaw it, it ain't fit for decent folks.

Now maybe we can get some good music around here, maybe some Perry Como or some Lawrence Welk...some REAL music, for a change.:50:

robtown 05-14-08 07:53 PM

I'm 65 in metric.

Everyone OK in here?

Red Rider 05-16-08 11:49 PM

I'm too young for this thread, so I won't be contributing. Just sayin'.

So can I.

I can't remember the answer.

This 65+ thread seems to have died a natural death - err - perhaps those are the wrong words!

My wife is ready for a 70+ thread, but it will take me about 1.5 years.

Retro Grouch 07-16-08 07:50 AM

Um - What are you trying to accomplish?

OldLog 07-16-08 08:09 AM

Ok if no other qualifications I at least meet the age at 66 LOL Not only that just starting out bike riding also. Already a slight case of road rash thinking I was still 15 on a bike.

If you old guys only post here, then we young guys won't be able to benefit from your "wisdom" without lurking, and that seems so dishonest, somehow.

BlazingPedals 07-16-08 02:24 PM

By now we should all know how this works: If you start a thread that's only for 65+, you will have all the young whipper-snappers posting. We're old enough to be contrarians, after all...

OldLog 07-16-08 02:41 PM

As far as wisdom and being an Old fart. When it comes to anything pertaining to Bike riding I defer to the younger generation for help and knowledge.

Well, you asked nice BUT, you have to leave that damn Rabbit with the 50 group.

I'm 66 and trying to get in good enough shape to keep up with some of the folks who are obviously older.

They call me Red, like the color my hair used to be.

abqhudson 07-16-08 06:15 PM

Tasteful badges?

I have my 50+ jersey, but, I am thinking about putting 70+ badges/decals/embroidery or? on all of my jerseys! I am 70 +. Why not?

Burr 07-16-08 06:15 PM

[ young whippersnappers - not yet 50 - posting to the 50+ forum

can one still ride past 65, 75 or 85? Try us here.

okrobie 07-17-08 09:41 AM

Hello, I'm 66 and my goal is to ride as fast as my riding buddy who is 75. This would be a good thread if we could keep the young'uns out.:)

Amazingrace 07-17-08 01:05 PM

What about a 65 Plus jersey?

I see Mr. Corlew has designed a 50+ jersey. How about a 65+ with a clever slogan?
