Well i did find what was left of it. The poor thing met a untimely and cruel death at the bottom of a tire. It gives me a good excuse to upgrade to a Garmin 800. We will be eating rice and beans for the next few months but you only live once. This ain't no dress rehearsal.

colonoscopy tomorrow. Don't forget to get yours done.
A fellow member in my bike club now has only a few months to live from colon cancer.
It was a wake up call for all of us.

Nobody posting on here? Where are all you old cyclist? We finally had a day barely warm enough to get a ride in, and was it ever good to get on the old Felt again. Even without my dearly departed Garmin Forerunner. Just 40 degrees at the start but warmed all the way up to 61 by 3PM and then started to cool again. Got 74 miles in and except for my left arm and shoulder kinking up it was a great ride. No wind to speak of, just a good day.

Dear Diddly Squat Supervisor,
Glad you had a great ride. Hope you have many more

Life's wonderful, ride baby ride.

I have been lucky. I must admit, I am the biggest coward going.. At 70 years old, I haven't had it done yet. So far, knocking on wood, I am okay..

Yeah, I noticed that too. ;) I been riding, scrounging on CL and grabbing all the steals I can find. ;) In the last couple weeks, I landed a $90 Centurion, an a $50 Prelude.. They both are sweet here I am on both of them in 15-19 degree weather.. Don't laugh at the fish head tennis. 70 year old peeps get to wear anything they want..:D

CEHoward, glad you got in some rides and had luck with your scrounging. I have about a 20 mile ride on Saturday, and really enjoyed it. We don't have snow on the ground, but there was some fog on the hills so I stayed on the lower areas. (I don't like riding in fog.) I hope to have another nice ride this coming weekend.

Well I got my new Garmin and working out the learning curve, not to bad. Had a nice ride today except for the wind. About half of the ride was into the wind, or 20 mph for half and 12 for the other half. Oh well it's all good. Just my luck, tomorrow is a no wind day.

Keep Cranking Guy!

I'll pickup my new CS200cad this afternoon.

LAriverRat 02-10-11 01:20 AM

Hibernation, there, i posted. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Burr 02-10-11 05:24 AM

WHY are you "Hibernating"?

RonH 02-10-11 08:24 AM

Yes, why are you hibernating? I thought LA was warm all year.

I said "tomorrow is a no wind day"? Did I ever tell a lie. Its really blowing today and it feels like Minnesota.
Glad I went yesterday. What ever happened to that Global Warming idea?

RonH 02-10-11 12:16 PM

You gotta pay more attention to the Weather Channel. :)

LAriverRat 02-10-11 11:57 PM

Have not had the time to ride in the last 11 days, and before that have failed to post here. Will check in more often. I meant my bike is in hibernation. Had some cancellations tomorrow so i will wake it up and go for a spin. Today was a perfect day to ride but alas, could not do so.
Don't know if i want to go to the mountains or the beach.

I'm retired, owned a little telephone interconnect, what do you?

LAriverRat 02-11-11 05:47 PM

I still have some nice accounts that want to deal with me only. I do mini blinds/vetical blinds which is easy clean work. I install them myself. I also have carpet installers, so i just set up the installations. I am semi-retired. It's just been busy with my commercial accounts. Got in 51 miles today, went to the mountains. Great weather, just cruised along at 16 mph, easy pace. 3 hours 14 minutes rt/ 3 hours 30 minutes total time. Sunny and fun.

Burr 02-11-11 08:13 PM

Great Rat, I retired at 62 and did a few job for a few years then we moved to her house in the Philippines and I have never looked back.

I stay so busy doing nothing that I don't know how I had time to work.

Life's great, enjoy.

Phil85207 02-12-11 06:40 PM

Got a nice ride in today. Check out the temperatures, I hope the coldness is over for this winter. Spring is just around the corner.

Had a great 20 mile ride with my new cad system yesterday, got everything working now all I have to do is learn the buttons and what they do.

I ride again Tuesday, lift on Mondays.

DnvrFox 02-13-11 07:40 AM

"cad system" - help me out here. For some reason, I thought CAD meant "Computer Assisted Design" or something like that. ANyway, what is your cad system? And, if I missed it previously, my apologies.

Sorry, I have no idea.
