I started reading this thread, got a cuppa and came back to finish. I did have to
give up coffee for awhile because of one of its nasty side effects. It was keeping
me awake at work. But at night it doesn't. I used to often have a few cups before
bed and then crash. It was a thread like this in a forum that made me realize that
the topic of coffee combined a lot of my jokes and recipes with my newly developed
"handyman's theory of evolution" and it became the index page of my little sig site,
at https://mainlytext.com I can't say much about the effects on a person's health,
but you might enjoy reading about what it is doing to evolution.

Edit: I just found a link I was looking for. This report says that coffee has more
fiber than orange juice. I didn't think of fiber as something that can go through a
coffee filter, but to a nutritionist it can.

I mentioned this to someone I know and she said "So when I have my coffee and a
Snickers bar, it's a health food breakfast?" (She's a thinker.)

I wrote that I HATE the taste of coffee, and it's true. But I get caffeine by drinking colas at lunch during the work week, and occasionally on the weekend too. My cola drinking limits itself; I'm just not interested in drinking it more and mostly do it at lunches because it's what's there to drink.

Well, I don't hate the taste of coffee, but it doesn't do anything for me either. Don't care for beer either. Never have liked the taste of alcohol. Guess that really makes me an odd bird.

I love the smell of fresh coffee. Just don't care to drink it. I'll take a Mocha Frappuccino though.

OTOH, the smell of used coffee leaves a lot to be desired.

They're both for people that just want to pee.

When I drank it, I didn't notice a difference in taste from regular coffee. It's for people who want the smell, the taste, and the experience, but without the negative effects (heart palpitations, withdrawals, interrupted sleep, etc.).

I like my habitual two cups in the morning, the rest of the day I have no desire for any. Although I do love the smell of fresh roasted coffee any time of the day.

Or veggie burgers. Never understood why a vegetarian would want to eat something that pretends to be meat.

Count me as one who loves his coffee. I'm good for probably 4-5 cups a day. Funny thing is that it doesn't matter if it's high test or decaf. Especially if it's Dunkin Donuts coffee, I don't really notice a difference between the two. Not a fan at all of iced coffee though. Coffee ice cream = good! With me, it's the taste. Since I really prefer it hot, I have never partaken on a ride.

I don't think anybody would actually think one of those AFOs (almost-food-objects) was real meat. Just making it in the *shape* of a burger does not mean it's pretending to be meat.

Is it OK to eat one of those things that is pink in the middle? Do they put ersatz E. coli in them?

I like coffee, however, coffee seems to have some issues with me. I limit my intake by drinking it only a couple of days a week typically along with something sweet, think pie. (pie without coffee=oxymoron) I like the taste of good coffee as well as the smell and figure losing a bit of sleep over it won't kill me.
