DGette Pulls the Trigger

Well, DGette and I have had a wonderful day. She pulled the trigger on a Giant TCRCW, had it fitted, and went on a 20 mile maiden voyage.

Here are some pics:

The standard bike shot, with Carly, our cat, helping out.

Pulling the trigger:

Weighing the new baby (19.25 pounds)

Waiting to be fitted (does someone look AWFULLY happy here?)

Getting it level:

Taking measurements:

Me, trying to be patient. We were in the LBS for three hours!

Finally on the open road:

A view I'll have to get used to. Her bike is FAST!

Did you say girlfriend or daughter? Either way, she looks happy.

I see lots of miles in your future sir. She really looks like she likes this bike a lot and that means more and more and more smiles per mile and more miles altogether.

So when is the first century?

DG, don't forget to adjust those brakes a tad tight. That way you will be able to keep up with her. Nice bike and great rider!

Wow! Buying the bike doesn't surprise me as much as already wearing the lycra uniform for some reason! Just today, I finally broke down and bought some lycra shorts after months of wearing the baggier mountain bike shorts. I like that DGette has embraced road cycling so totally! Even down to the Pearl Izumi's. I like her. A decisive woman. And a gorgeous bike!!

HOLY COW Gary and just think you kicked it around for 2 years, before you pulled the trigger. Very pretty and the bike looks good to.

Can't see anything wrong with that view.

And DG- Furniture polish (Pledge over here)- works wonders on those white bits. (For when you have to clean both bikes)

And there are subtle changes on the colour scheme. Just flip the stem- get the 2nd water bottle cage and a smaller saddle wedge.

Very nice indeed. Just one thing.... at the risk of sounding like one of the whipper-snappers in the Road Forum, she just has to lose that atrocious "dork disc" that Giants come with. My TCR C2 had the same one and it was the first thing to go.

My crystal ball sees a new bike in your future. Sorry, Ruby.

I concur. Beautiful lady, beautiful bike. My little 12-year-old black cat is looking at the screen right now, and I think she approves of your cat, but not the dork disc.

I like* dork discs. I wish they were on all my bikes! Although I like the pretty metal ones the best.
