Brylcreem

Does anyone here know the lyrics to the jingle on Brylcreem?

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

I think it's ironic that a guy with my hairline can remember.

Brylcream, a little dab will do ya,
Brylcream, you'll be so debonair.
Brylcream, the gals will all persue ya,
Rub a little Brylcream in your hair.

Someone said this is how it goes:

Brylcreem, a little dab will do ya
Use more only if you dare
But watch out the gals will all pursue ya
They love to get their fingers in your hair

Is this about right?

I'm not sure if this is the first or second verse.

When the dry look became popular, the last line was changed to, "They'll love the natural look it gives your hair."

Fred Flintstone's famous "Yabba Dabba Doo" is derived from this motto.

I remember they had a whole bunch of products after Brylcreem became less popular. Vitalis and some of the others. One or two of them felt like jello in a tube. But the last time I went into a barber shop/hair salon my hair was just a bit longer and my “stylist” put some kind of gel in my hair and gave me a “spiked” look. I now tend to wear my hair shorter and water works just fine.

I don't think I ever used Bryylcream. But when I was sporting a flat top (13-14) I was buying "butch wax" by the gallon.

A heavy application of Brylcreem really helps to keep your helmet in place.

helps with that wind resistance

HI,
That hair needs to be swept back just like the helmet, and if you wear enough cream it may break your fall a abit in a sudden crash ( note you may lose some hair during a crash due to brakage.).
Although it does tend to run in your eye in the rain or if your rather warm.
Yooowwwwww, I cant seeee....

I used them both. One time I substituted Vaseline for Butch wax.......BIG mistake....took 2 days to wash it out.
When I got older and wiser moved on to English Leather and Jade East. IIRC, you could buy about a half pint of that stuff for a few bucks.

Nah, Old Spice was what my Dad wore. He was of the depression years and I'm of the modern generation. Now Brut was good too...had that nice chain around the bottle.

As far as gas, yes .25/gallon was common. I had a 1960 Corvette and would just go to one of my local stations, fill up, and sign the ticket. At the end of the week went in and paid my bill, and sometimes let it go for two weeks. Nothing was said, it was just the way of doing business. Same at the grocery store.
Speaking of the Coke, you can still get the old formula. It is imported from Mexico and made with cane sugar insted of corn syrup......have to go to a Mexican grocery and it's pricey but it's the real thing.

Yup. I sure remember that stuff. Seems like it came with a plastic brush/scalp massager attached to the lid that's missing in this pic, no?

Believe I might have used Brylcream and lastly Vitalis. Had a girl friend who preferred nothing in my hair, and so it became. Now I have nothing, so hair care is quite easy. Other gals got me Brut and Pub colognes, which I use so rarely I still have them both. And just bought the Old Spice Classic deodorant today. There was only one row of the Classic stuff, looks like Old Spice sells more High Endurance deodorant. May be time to stock up on cases.

Yeah, me too. I'm not sure why I ever used anything in my hair, cause it gets plenty greasy on its own pretty quickly.

Full disclosure: I haven't read all the posts, so somebody else may have answered already. But if not, I have it on a CD of old radio shows:

Brylcreem, a little dab'll do ya
Use more only if you dare.
Brylcreem, the girls will all pursue you.
They'll love to run their fingers through your hair.

I used about a tube a week in junior high. It doesn't work.
