OT: A Bit of 69+ Bragging

Please forgive me, but I gotta tell SOMEBODY!

I got an email today announcing that my son, Tim, totally and completely paralyzed from the shoulders down over 20 years ago on his 21st birthday, is receiving the Colorado Bar Foundation's Merit Award. Given to only one lawyer per year, it is the highest legal honor in Colorado.

Just a few years back, Tim was awkwardly received at the annual Bar Association conference by attorneys who were embarrassed and very awkward in interacting with someone in a wheelchair.

Go Tim!
You must be so proud!
Maybe he didn't actually knock down a barrier, but he sure as heck made a hole in one that is large enough to drive a wheelchair through. I hope many will follow.

I don't see it as bragging, at all. You have every right to be a proud dad. Congratulations.

As they say, when it came to raising your son, "You done good". I can't imagine the hours of worry, sweat, patience, and determination that your son, you, your wife and others must have gone through 20 years ago. I'd brag too!
