Smartwool ?
I got a pair of socks and a jersey this week. Just got back from a 30 mile ride and don't have any complaints (except for the loose gravel road repair). The temp was in the high eighties as was the humidity.

My Smartwool socks are my favorite of all my wool socks. Soft, comfy, warm, but not too warm and durable.

I did not get onto cycling specific socks till I was given a pair by my LBS for a ride in 2003. They are the best thing I have ever put on my feet--at least for cycling. No sweat build up and no sore spots after that long ride.

+1 on smartwool or me too. I wear their socks all the time, including their cycling socks. I also like their long underwear, and as soon as I get some extra cash, I will get some of their cycling jerseys. Guess I can be considered a fan.

+1 on the Smartwool
I have other "thinner" and lighter socks. But unless my shoes are fitting perfectly they can amplify the chafing on my feet in some of the hot spots. The Smartwools have enough padding where that is not a problem. I have the "Light" and "Ultralight".

I also like smartwool socks, and I'm wearing them right now. I find it hard to spend $10 or more on one pair of socks, so when people ask me what I want for a birthday or Christmas present, I send them a link to some smartwool socks in my size.

I started wearing Smartwool socks when I started commuting in the rain. Great investment; now I wear them year round.

Count me as a fan too. I've got 2pr of their sox, a Rambition jersey, and a lightweight longsleeve base layer shirt. All have given stellar service. And one thing I haven't seen mentioned: you can wear 'em for several days of riding and they don't stink to high heaven, unlike plastic stuff.

I have SmartWool socks I wear year-round (I alternate with Alpaca sometimes). I also have a couple of SmartWool jerseys and a couple of tights that I use in the winter as a base layer. Very, very nice. Lightweight and warm to pretty low temperatures.
