A very short ride today on my Fuji Absolute hybrid today, but it was a great moment. Mrs. Camjr bought her first bike since she was a kid this week. She's been on a weight loss journey and wanted a bike to use for her very short 1 mile commute to work. She opted for the Electra Townie GO! 7D pedal assist e-bike. I acted as her wingman today on some local hike and bike trails for 4 miles in this brutal Texas crematorium equivalent heat today. She did great, and this Townie is perfect for her!

Another beautiful morning. Usual circuit around the neighborhood, sixteen miles. Heats coming back tomorrow for the end of August.

Did 20 miles on my favorite path here on Cape Cod. Stunning morning, low 70s, little wind and low humidity. Here’s a picture of Quisset Harbor in Falmouth. Enjoy the weekend!

I woke up Saturday morning feeling digestive distress and wound up going back to bed - so no ride, alas. Sunday morning is just too hectic, so I was thinking it would be Monday before I threw a leg over a bike. Then it emerged that my daughters youth group was returning to Grace Street Park, so I loaded up the old Raleigh again and we headed on over. I'm finding my groove, of sorts, out there, and managed to ride most of the two most challenging trails without falling (yay!).

There is alternate route I could have taken on my Saturday MUP ride to the coffee shop, but I had enough coffee already so this was a short one today.

Did 11 miles on the MotoGR before noon this morning. Got the GoPro working with an external battery too so it doesn't quit recording after twenty minutes' ride time. A return engagement to a loop I did first time about a year ago: north out of town then east until the road going south changes my path. Up & down that stretch 'till the top of a wonderful, shady hill (this time going DOWN, fast!) that takes me back to the road I can ride back home.
(I'll be uploading the video to Youtube later. Anyone wanting the link please PM me. It's an hour in length but you can skip ahead to the interesting bits like the downhill stretch or a bit later when I was joined by three 'free to run' dogs near the end. We all four got away unscathed from the experience.)

Haven't been riding as much as I'd like so it felt good to get out

Just groceries and stuff today- it's a little too warmish for long distances. 6 1/2 - 7 miles by my rough streets calculations.
Will try again in the earlier a.m. before things heat up and remember to bring a camera...

I got out a bit late today. I was hemming and hawing whether I should go or not as I didn't fall asleep until 12:20 am and I was up at 6:30 am. I decided to ride and just take it easy better to ride easy than not ride at all. The temp was nice with the temp at 65 f degrees, and mostly blue skies. Also today I stayed on the bike path the whole ride.

From this morning's ride. Actually got caught in the rain about 15 minutes after this was taken.
This is the longest climb in the city, and about the second steepest ascent.
About 850 yards up a 26-28 degree incline.
I climbed it at age 67 on my old Sekine without stopping, which is surprising for a couple of reasons- in my 20's, I couldn't climb that sucker on a bike of any kind without having to stop and get off to walk the bike to the summit.
I got a bit of a run at it from the street below- probably 12-14mph, and made it better than halfway up the incline before I had to downshift from 9th to 7th gear.
(No snickers from the S/F Bay area peanut gallery here, please)
Huffed and puffed for a few minutes at the top, but did get my breath, and did not have a heart attack, seizure, or falling down episode.

Basic mixed use industrial area scenic from the top.
Place is named Westview Park- Garbage Hill in local parlance for what it is- a converted land-fill.
Total ride this a.m. about 12-13 miles.

I was able to get over on the smooth roads today and ride 23 miles up to Red Oak creek and back. I even saw a few other road bikers out and about.
Really a nice change of pace.

Bikes: Bikes??? Thought this was social media?!?
Always thankful to post this thread
Sometimes ‘ya just have to kick yerself in the butt and go. Been thinkin about flat 50, from a General thread. If trying to make it flat = make it easy too. Easy is all pavement, mostly smooth, cager-free where possible. Easy (under those conditions) is skinny tires -25mm- pumped hard and a custom endurance bike that also allows for a low position.
low 70s, full overcast muchly, sprinkles

^^^ Out th door, down th hill, past the bog….

^^^ Quiet for a weekday, and the bit of sun, a fool’s optimism. Short lived!

^^^ Thru Issaquah

^^^^ North along Lake Sammamish

^^^ Marymoor Park offers some stops close to the half way point.

^^ Preserving SOME naturally marshy lakeside areas, but still mostly developed with homes.
‘Back’ way thru Issaquah toward home.
