5/15/10 - 31 mile ride along the ARBT with my sons. I treated them to breakfast at Scott's on the river. Cruised over to the capitol to check out the Amgen TOC set up. Nice day.

89 miles and 3800+ feet of climbing this morning. San Gabriel river rd to locked gate. Cal Trans workers say the road still has major damage several miles past gate. Back to West fork over to Glendora Mountain rd., up the back way and down to Sierra Hwy and back to start. Mild drizzle most of way up, wet roads an the way down. Very little traffic. LOts of fun.

You can bike with your friends , you can bike alone, you can bike as a professional, you can climb hills and mountains, but the most lovely biking trips are with my wife maryann.
Saturday we biked from our small historic town Breda to Den Bosch the capital of our province (Brabant). So nice weather, lovely springtime hardly any wind.
Taking coffee near the medieval church of St John, the carillon playing and knowing you have another 35 lovely bike miles to go home. Seventy miles: quality time!

26 miles as usual. Less windy today. More enjoyable. Have found now that I am participating in regular Thursday night group rides I am starting to think in terms of being in better condition for them. A little more desire to pedal efficiently, shift often, etc.

42.9 miles despite mostly cloudy skies and windy conditions. Temps were just ideal in the upper 50's.

If you're talking about Hwy 39, San Gabriel Cyn road, you can ride up to Angeles Crest. There's no damage but there was a small rock slide the last time I was up there.
Some friends are planning to ride up to Dawson Saddle that way on Friday to watch the ToC. I can find the details if you would like to join them, (maybe me, too).
I think you're also referring to Sierra Madre.

29 miles up to Mendota Heights and back via the Mississippi river. This route has 800 feet of climbing, which is a lot for these parts. The ride felt just great - the absolute highlight of the day. Unfortunately, I'll be traveling the next few days, so no rides until Sunday. It's funny, travel used to be one of my favorite parts of my job (I usually get to go to some nice places, though not always). Now I resent the travel b/c it interrupts my riding.

Just the usual 50 mile Wednesday Club Ride today. Lincoln CA to Auburn. A bit of climbing. Mostly down hill coming back. We got caught in a little rain on the way back. Most of us were dressed for warmer weather. Here we are leaving town. We had parts of three different groups with us.

Not today but yesterday. (When will you read this anyway?) Had to have work done on the car so I threw a bike in the back, dropped the car off at the shop, then cycled home. Of course later in the day I had to repeat the whole process in the reverse direction. Okay, so it was only 5 miles and the second half was in a light rain. Still...

Got out for a short 16 mile ride on the BRP today with my daughter's gymnastics coach. She's making steady progress and already has her first metric planned.

Bikes: confidential infromation that I don't even share with my wife

51.89 miles with a 20.4 mph average. Rode with 3 other riders. After a 6 mile warm-up we spent 1 hr @ Z3 riding the grave yard crit circuit, then proceeded onto the roads for 1.25 hours more riding @ Z3. We formed a pace line with 20 pedal revolution (15 seconds) pulls in order to keep the HR up. Very nice evening for riding, sunny, light winds and 65 degrees. I used this invite for tonight's ride: https://www.xtranormal.com/profile/2291743/

Rode today after a 5 day lay off. Only went 28 miles, left late just to loosen up my legs. Felt strong, held 22 mph for 1 mile, 21 for 3 more into a modest head wind. Seemed to go 19 mph with no strain. Planning to go 58 tomorrow to get ready for my sunday ride my age ride. Will ride 28 or so Friday and rest Saturday.
