Finally! FINALLY!!! I got a ride after 3 days of no rides! Wednesday I was taking off since it was going to rain and I had been riding 7 days in a row. I had been battling a cold during Wednesday I developed fully blown laryngitis with nice bouts of cough fits. Thursday I decided to rest again as I needed some sort of voice on Friday. So, here comes Friday--at 01:00 I awake and can't go back to sleep and around 03:30 I think about getting up and riding, but I knew I had a full day ahead of me so I decide to try and get a couple of hours of sleep(which I manage). Today, I get up at 04:00 to ride, get dressed, open the door to head out and it has been raining and is still doing so--CRAP! I go to a computer club meeting today, come home and do a few needed errands. I still need to fix the side sprayer for the kitchen sink but I rush out and do a 32 mile ride--would've been 42 or 50 but I still need to repair that side sprayer. I'll try for 40 or 50 miles tomorrow.

Twenty miles today after none last weekend (out of town on family business), so 14 days since my last ride. I was surprised I even did 20, since this follows a week of sinus insanity (still active), which followed the better part of a week of a flu-like bug and three days of missed work. I expected to end up in a hacking coughfest, but I managed to take it easy and just plod through the miles instead. Unseasonably warm, typically humid and a bit of W/SW wind.

We went and got our annual flu shots and some lunch, during half-time for the Army Navy game I got in a good ride before dark. The afternoon showers blew through quickly and the roads were dry so all in all it was a great day.

Mikey, Good to hear you got in a ride, I think waiting out the crud was a good idea for the long term.

go in 40 miles on the tandem. A bit cool at the start (40 degF), but warmed up nicely during the ride.

We did a BF ride today. It was cool, sunny, dry, with a small, just 11 of us, with one tandem (which we haven't ridden since 10/21). We were having a blast until, while doing a standing climb up a 7% hill in the middle ring we heard a "kapow!" and I looked down to see the chain skip to the small ring, then off entirely. The captain's bike skills (and our single-digit speed) kept us from falling over. I noticed that 4 of the 5 bolts on the big ring were gone. We don't know how or why.

We limped in granny about 4 miles to a local bike/coffee shop, where the proprietor pulled the espressos, etc., for us, then fixed the tandem up in time for a long, fast descent toward the start. Fun ride with good people.

Whoa, glad you two were not hurt when the chain ring let go. That would be scary, even at a single digit speed, for me. Any pics of the carnage from the ring's bolts going south on you, that you could post?

Cloudy and 80 degrees and the wife had no plans so went out for 40 miles and hit 4000 miles for the year.

The thread title asks "did [sic] you ride today?" A: Yes.
About 35 miles. Don't know how far exactly because the bike is old-school like its rider. No computer, just a plain red Masi Gran, Criterium. Cool weather, slightly damp roads but no rain, a lovely day. Home to Concord, with some peripheral exploring.

Great Picture! How far did you ride? How cold was it? Is it different to ride in snow?

Knee rest day today. I went to my daughter's house for my middle grandson's birthday and ended up doing a half mile ride in the neighborhood with my 5 and 12 yo grandsons. Very enjoyable ride!

Thanks, as I said long and slow, I guess I was out around four hours. It was down to around minus 10 degrees celsius. You slide around alot in loose snow and uphills are a bit difficult gripwise. A bullmoose crossed the road just a few feet ahead of me, meeting wildlife is one of the benefits of being out on days few others use.

Did some intervals today--at moderate intensity. Several at four minutes each, with about the same rest in between. Total ride about 40 minutes. Temp was 39 degreess with north wind; toes got cold despite the wool socks and neoprene booties. Need to start using the toe-warmers (chem pack). Got the ride in this morning; it may snow some this afternoon here in Ohio.

60 miles on Friday ( my 72nd birthday), 62 on Saturday, 31 yesterday on our tandem at the Highlands Bike Fest in Sebring, FL. Great weather (low 80s F and 3 mph wind). Great routes, great scenery, great company and delicious food. Average speeds 15.7-16.1 mph.

Woke up late(04:40) and had to be home by 06:15 to have time before setting off to an obligation--so I could only fit in 21 miles this early am, but glad I got something in.

Didn't ride as planned yesterday--woke up feeling horrible so I went back to sleep with the intention of trying the afternoon--didn't work out--so no ride on Sunday.

Ten mile tee & jeans neighborhood ride on the hybrid before the rain came. Rode in high gear without the knee brace and knee felt great. They say 30-40% chance of rain tomorrow so not sure if I'll get a ride in. Next MUP ride will be one of my normal 30 milers.

I got in a short, quick ride after the rough, windy storms this morning, and before the next storm line hits us this evening and the temps start to drop. Not bad but it was windy, from the southwest, but nothing to stop riding. Pretty good day all in all and any day with a ride is a great day.
