0500! There's only one reason I get up at that hour! Your a better man than I! I am planning on going out just as soon as lunch settles. I figure doing 6 or 7 miles will probably take me an hour. Nice pics to all that have posted.

10 miles on a tandem to the YMCA, with my son.

Mort Canard 03-26-13 07:09 PM

24 miles under balmy 47 degree skies with gusty winds. Given our weather lately, I was just glad to be able to get out and ride. Hope to put on some more miles this weekend.

msujmccorm 03-26-13 07:48 PM

10 miles with 20 mph winds. Outa gas!

Biker395 03-26-13 07:53 PM

10 miles + 20 MPH winds = 30 miles?

The Tuesday club ride was a lot of fun today.

Ride was 40 miles, climbing up and down in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It was a stunning beautiful day. The out of the way mountain roads had little traffic and there was lots of fun conversation at lunch as I ate the warm PB&J I carried in my jersey pocket for the last 30 miles.:D

The ride start was 10 miles from my house, so I got in a strong 60 mile day.

Bikey Mikey 03-27-13 06:21 PM

Well, the plan was to do 90 miles today. I got a tad delayed and I had guests coming over for dinner, so I did 81 miles, got home, cleaned up, changed, and made dinner, but at least I did 81 miles fighting a nasty headwind, directly and oblique(cross headwind) about 2/3 of the time...I'm sure I only had a direct tailwind 15 to 20% of the time. There were times I could barely get 12 mph because of the headwind(13 to 15 mph sustained with 20 to 26 mph gusts).

Is it Spring yet? Not quite. But it is daylight saving time: Even though I was a bit late getting home from work, I was able to get out for an eight mile ride in daylight. Low 40's.

Roger M 03-27-13 08:29 PM

15 miles in a light rainfall with upper 50s.

Gravity Aided 03-28-13 04:39 AM

10 miles, indoors, surrounded by snowdrifts.

JimF22003 03-28-13 05:18 AM

Did not ride. The closer it gets to actual spring weather, the wimpier I get. Yesterday it was the wind. Same excuse for today I guess.

Bikey Mikey 03-28-13 05:03 PM

23 miles, 23 very windy miles, not helpful for a recovery ride when you have to fight the wind.

Mort Canard 03-28-13 07:17 PM

Set out to do 24 miles today after work and at the far point of the ride I decided to add some more miles since I was on a roll. Ended up with 32 miles. 66 degrees with very moderate south winds. We are scheduled to have another wet weekend so I wanted to get in as many miles as possible on a good day for riding.

Hackman61 03-28-13 11:58 PM

Sun broke this afternoon so I squeezed in 11 miles before sundown, and before the wife and kids got home.

The promised rain did not appear but the pollen did. I rode 15 miles before the hay fever forced me off the bike and back into the house. 72 degrees with very moderate winds.

Work holiday so took the opportunity to ride. Only did 56 miles but it had 6200 ft of climbing. Lots of steep stuff.

Hot d--n! with yesterdays ride of 8 miles I've hit 27 for the year. Only 1973 more to go to my loose goal of 2000 for the year. Last year at this time I had 200+ in. The weather has made for a late start this year.

PRus 03-30-13 11:26 AM

What a difference a week makes! First two group rides for the year for me. 50 miles same route.
Last week was only three of us, lot's of wind, temps around 40. I was dead at the end of it.About a 15mph average.
Today, seven, around 50 degrees and not much wind at all. Could have gone for another 20. Average of 18mph.
Glad, spring is on the way!

Finally roads are clear of snow and salt enough! Whoohoo. 2nd ride of the season. New brake pads - KoolStops for my '75 Sekine. Soooo much nicer than my old, warn, oxidized Shimano pads.

I had an easy 50 mile MUP ride which was great until almost the end. A pedestrian, a young male in about mid-20's walking with his wife, threatened to punch me out and throw my body in the river if I don't "call out" before going around him! All I can figure is that all the idiots are out it being the first nice day in a while, and this guy being one of them had somehow gone over the edge. MUP rage? drugs? I dunno.

I'm pleased to say that I didn't hurt him or provoke him to violence. I merely politely said that it would be a mistake because he'd probably fail and then he'd be in trouble, and he backed off a bit. I wonder if I'm going to have trouble with this idiot in the future though - he was still acting agitated and aggressive when I rode by him in the parking lot ...
