40 miles of sunshine on Sunday with my wife. 27 miles today, more sunshine. Never get tired of the the sun. Dreading going back to north of the 49, although I hear the weather's pretty nice up there at the moment.
We rode 58 miles yesterday in the Smokey Mountains, nice and sunny, with a gradual 13 mile climb. Today we will do 40 miles of the flattest roads in East Tenn. Temps will be in the 70's this afternoon followed by snow flurries tomorrow night and a hi of 40 on Thursday.

Weather has been cold, for East Texas, and lots of rain since November. I couldn't stand it Saturday and rode 2 hrs in the rain about 55 degrees with north wind. Had to get on the road even if it meant suffering! Sunday was dry but low 40s and strong north wind and over cast. But at least the road was dry. With the price we pay for summer we're not suppose to have winter
I rode 30 miles today, all on the Pittsburgh Heritage trail. Averaged 13 mph.
I haven't been well for a couple days but forced myself out for a ride today. The weather is awesome, warm, sunny today (for the Midwest in March). I still feel kind of (flu-like) crappy. But I did enjoy the ride and I don't think I am any worst for it.
A very nice 35 miles today. Weather is definitely starting to feel like summer.
27 gorgeous miles today...would've done more, but I had a doc appt.
37 miles solo with 1800 ft of hills. 78 degrees. Legs had recovered from the 130 miles over the weekend. Great ride!
Did the usual 33 mile loop after work. My first ride of the year in shorts. Woohoo!
For some reason they shrunk over the winter though :( |
32 miles with the guys yesterday, but this time to the surprise of all, I was able to contribute to the 23.3 average with six pulls. Added 19 miles of my own. Nothing today since I'm heading to my orthopedic surgeon in a bit.
Yesterday 66 and sunny; today rain in the morning, snow in the afternoon. No riding today. :notamused:
Yesterday, yes I did.
22 miles and the ride felt great! Today the temperature takes a 60 degree drive from Tuesday's high of 65. Ride 'em when you can. |
Managed a 2 mile bike ride to pool, a swim and 2 miles back home after orthopedic visit. Have to make an appointment with a hand specialist for wrist consultation after seeing shoulder specialist. Going to try for 50 tomorrow.
65 windy and cool miles.
35 extremely windy miles at the wilderness MUP today. This was after driving 41 miles north of me to do some rides in rolling hills, only to find out it was much, much windier there than at the MUP.
65 relatively flat miles (1200' of ascent). Didn't push, but still had a decent 16.3 mph average.
Another extremely windy day for a 45 mile ride. Hoping the winds are going to lighten up for tomorrow's charity ride along the Gulf Beaches.
Ten miles on a gusty sunny warmish afternoon. As long as it's not dangerously windy, it's a good bike-handling challenge.
Same 35 mile loop yesterday and today. Yesterday was 17.8 in very windy conditions. Average a bit better today in little wind, 75 degree, low humidity perfect Florida weather. I love the roads west of Gainesville, very scenic and a few rolling hills. This weekend's supposed to be great weaherwise, so I'm aiming for another 70 miles or so in the two days. 140 in four days plus one on Tuesday makes about 170 for the week. Average speed today was just about 20, I'm feeling pretty good about my cardio conditioning. Definitely making a comeback. Took my BP an hour later and it was 104 / 65.
Beware the Ides of March, and there were a couple of close ones on our 65 miler today.
An absolutely perfect day for a 31 mile charity ride along the Gulf Beaches in Pinellas County. I was worried that the wind would be like it was the past two days, but it was nice and calm for the ride (4-7 mph).
66 miles and 4000 feet climbing in windy, windy conditions. Had hope to get 80+ miles in but the wind did me in.
36 miles In and around Gainesville Hawthorne trail. Met two really nice riders, what a great way to spend a few hours. This has been my fourth day out, so I consider myself blessed......Kept the gas on for a good length of it, averaged 20+ overall. Weather perfect 75, no wind or humidity. Please don't hate us..........
21 miles on the Screamer this afternoon with my favorite stoker. Low 50's but sunny and with a bit of a tailwind on the homeward portions.
Movin' on up!!
...from the land of no riding, that is :
