Very cool, overcast morning. I could have worn long sleeves, but I warmed up quickly on the Allez. 20.8 miles @17mph. Front derailleur (say that in French) works well.

4th day in a row to bike to work. Rainless weather rules! Took the afternoon off so was able to enjoy an earlier urban/suburban ride home with minimal auto traffic. Twenty miles total.

A shot of the beach on Siesta Key during my 15 mile ride this morning. I thought I had to get it in quick due to the massive black clouds to the north.

12 slow early-morning miles with a 50 year old friend who's getting into cycling for the first time since probably high school... like I was 5 years ago. Nice enjoyable ride.

Another cool and sunny 15.6 mile easy ride on the Sirrus. There certainly seems to be a lot more traffic lately. The Reno area's getting too big. Too many cars, not enough bicycles.

If you wanted more miles today, you had to head out early. I started a 0615 and by the time I finished, just as the rains came, I had 71 miles in. Located south of exit 191 of I-75 where It's soooo good.

I was just getting out of bed when you were rolling out. Watched a bit of the TdF got inspired and did 53.5 miles @ 16.9 with 1453' of climbing 86 deg. Got home and watched the rest of the TdF (DVR) from my recliner.

Finally got the wife riding today. We did 22 the most she had ever ridden before this was 10. She did good considering. I wanted to go much longer but thought best not to push her too far. Great weather for it up here.

25 miles in the countryside southwest of Indy earlier today. Went up Foxhill road for the first time in several years - it is indeed a hill.

First segment done, 47 miles. Spent an hour cleaning bike, yup the rains came, changed out wheels/chain, oiled up and ready to head back out for more rain but got to get the additional 53 miles in. Checking weather radar to see if I can skirt some of the rain.

I went on a nice, quick, 14.5 mile ride before lunch - before it got too hot outside...
Once inside West Creek Pkwy business complex (looks like a horseshoe, off Patterson Ave (route 6) and has the 288 expressway crossing it with overpasses), a lot of lycra racers were in there with their $5000 Cervelo's and Specialized, etc.. racing bikes. Me and my old '85 Fuji tried in vain to keep up, but couldn't quite stay with them. But I gave it my best shot, that's all that matters!
Even though I'm 54 and probably have 20 or more years on some of those riders, I look at it like, "if they can do it - so can I!"

Perfect riding morning, cool and sunny. Rode with three other experienced riders (3 Specialized, 1 Cervelo, the Lycra crowd) and I had to push it quite a bit to keep up with the 23.5 mph pace. Avg 13.5 so we were moving. I normally ride about 15 mph, we were doing that up a grade. Beautiful ride.

Man - some of you sure ride a long way in one day! I'm 59 and have had a 2008 Trek 7.2FX since new, but rarely rode it due to my hands going numb. So I did some research and visited my LBS and had Ergon grips put on along with bar ends (the LBS fitted my old grips to the bar ends which I like) and got some gloves. My hands have no issues now at all. I usually do 13 miles but today could only do 10 as the trail was flooded deeply at 5 miles on the outbound trek from Starkey Park in Pasco County, FL to the Suncoast Parkway. Actually it was good luck to have the trail flooded. It goes 6.5 miles through Starkey Wilderness Park so differing habitats of central Florida woods between swamps (the flooded part) with Cyprus trees, Pine forest, meadows, palmetto's as far as the eye can see, deer, turkeys - even saw a bobcat last time out. So even though it isn't long distance like others here travel - it was still very peaceful and beautiful - even if it did pour on the the last mile!
What??? Only 2 wheels?

Yesterday my sweetie and I had plans to meet some friends from out of town for a tandem spin, but she wanted to do more miles than they were likely to want. So we did 23.75 first. They rented a tandem (their own is in Florida), we met them, and we did another 23.0. It was a good day and a good lunch.
Today the weather was threatening but we went out again for another 39miles. Today's lunch stop:

We've had two days of all day rains so when my weather app showed 0% chance of rain, I took off for a great 52 mile ride with three of my riding buddies.

48 miles on a club ride today on the Screamer. I would have been ok with the 30 mile option but once again was talked into the long option by my favorite stoker. Mostly flat farmland NW of Indy but a challenging hill near the start - Fishback Creek hill is short but steep and I have seen riders fall down on it on multiple club rides because it is so unexpectedly steep. But short. Did I mention that it was hot and humid today?

40 miles @ 17.2 mph. Heat and humidity creeping back up - 88 deg and sticky. Just replaced my tires - went from 700 x 23 to 700 x 25. I should have done this a long time ago.

Much slower group ride today for 16.8 miles at an average of about 11mph. It's pretty much a novice group except for one hill up Spanish Springs Rd. Only one occasional rider (chunky lady) had to walk part of it. Overall a nice ride.

A good friend is relocating to Ann Arbor, MI in a couple of months, and none too happy about it. We had a short ride on the peninsula in his honor this Saturday, and had a great turnout. Some of you might recognize some faces in here.
It was one of those lovefest days. Astoundingly, one of the local constables actually took it upon himself to temporarily close down intersections, so we could all pass through as a group. Wow ... I've never seen that before.
As you can tell by the jerseys, many of the attendees are endurance riders with a good number of double centuries in their pockets. Several have done 100+. I think there were enough of us to have ridden well over 200,000 miles worth ... to the moon.
We had muffins and coffee in the morning, and pizza, cake, and ice cream in the afternoon. Yum.
Anyway, it was a great day, that reminded me again of why it is that I love cycling. For me at least, it's as much about the company as the cycling.

It was a great day, a great ride and a great party all in one Vic (Biker395). Congrats to you, your wife Ann, Tiger Beck, Dee, Kurt and anyone else who helped (your cat Oreo too, of course). Great job by everyone!
I had ridden around Palos Verdes several times in the past but I did some climbs on that ride I hadn't done before. All kinds of fun. Thanks for hosting the party at your place. And thanks to your son for getting the pizzas!

Got up and checked the weather and was happy to find out that the predicted T Storms were not going to materialize. Got in a warn and sticky 25.75 miles @ 17.5mph.
