Short but good hill climb (pant pant) 11 mile group ride today. Coming down Sparks Blvd. was the most fun part (28mph before I slowed down for the crossing). Such a nice day (and short ride) I took the trike out for another 8. Lovin' this weather.

18 miler. 96 degrees and humid. Felt great the whole time. Funny how things go when I stay hydrated and am rested.

25.1 miles @ 17 mph. Not really hot, 78 deg, but 93% hum had me dripping by the end of the ride.
Had some nasty thunder storms today but one of the advantages of being retired I can watch the radar and go out anytime I see a break.

That's a very good average. I've noticed that I ride around 15mph most of the time, hit 18-20 for short stretches, yet my Speedo avg says 12.5mph. I reset for every trip but the speedo keeps total mileage. I wonder if it's based on that? But still...

Morning sunshine ride for 18.5, mostly flat (the usual river bike path). Loving retirement.

18 miles. Today was the first day this summer that temperature was 100 or over. Actually had a very nice ride. The humidity was only around 73% so not too bad.

40 miles in the heat an humidity. But it was all before work, so that was nice. Have to ride in the morning to miss the afternoon thunderstorms this time of year. Got soaked on my ride the night before. I made it under a shelter, but I still got wet from the rain blowing in sideways.

35.7 Miles @ 17 mph. Beautiful day mid 80's low hum but the wind really picked up about an 90 min into ride.

Sorry to hear about your wife John_V. Hope she gets well soon.

Didn't ride Wed (boo-hiss) but took the bike to the VA vampires this morning. Fasting lab, no nothing after 6pm the night before. They expect me to negotiate a bicycle through traffic at 7am with no coffee? Insanity, I tell ya'. But it was a nice morning that ended in a 19 mile round trip ride. Cool enough at 7am to wear long sleeves but that came off immediately when I got there.

22 miles yesterday, my best so far. It was a great day other than that a dog died. He was running across the road to attack me, and unfortunately there was an 18 wheeler coming in the opposite direction. I'm a dog lover and feel bad about it (so did the truck driver), but what can you do? You let your dog run loose, things like that are bound to happen. If not for the truck, I think we would have tangled, he was coming full blast and I was going about 25 mph.

It was sunny, hot, and humid with just a break between rainstorms. I decided to do (what I call) a fast 10 miles out... 10 miles back.

While cutting through a residential area I was almost hit by a guy backing out of a driveway (I hollered BIKE... and he then braked... and looked where he was going). Later the handlebar slipped from my hands... and I nearly loss control... for no reason. Once on the bike path I passed a guy with a big scary looking UN-leashed dog..... that then chased me.

I had a GREAT ride!

Rode the from home thru lite traffic but the power company had the bike path closed part way thru the ride at the McCarran overpass. Trimming trees for new power lines. Humph. There will be more than a few riders aggravated by that. But I had a decent 14 miles @15mph.
