No ride tonight! More rain here, coming down in buckets right now. So much for the myth that it doesn't rain here in AZ.

During the week I've been doing short 4-5 mile rides around town. It is dark and cold and I like to cool off before bedtime so I keep the rides short. Just enough to get me out of the house. I've been riding the mtb with studded tires because of the ice patches.

One of the nicest days of the year so far. Sunny, 60F and calm wind. A coworker and I rode out from work this afternoon for a good 21 miles of rolling hills. Beats the crap out of the stationary bike in the gym.

12 miles of sprints around the park in sunny, 55 degree weather, and I come home and shiver for two hours. We Floridians are wimps of the first order.

Bikes: confidential infromation that I don't even share with my wife

Two hour group cycling class on the trainer last night. I can't imagine where I could ride a harder 34 miles that wasn't a race.

Did 12.4 miles yesterday when the sun peeked for few hours. Could have dome more miles if there was daylight remaining.

You're just not used to it. At the end of summer, 50 degrees seems cold to me. 50 degrees in March is a heat wave.

February 4, yes, beautiful today.

Temp in the high 60s when I left and low 70s when I got back today, wind out of the ESE @ 14 mph so I got out for a good 30+ miles this afternoon. Got home about 3:30. That is more my style.

32.14 (s)miles today
84.01 (s)miles this month
669.87 (s)miles this year
3 ride day(s) this month (Feb.)
6830 miles needed to hit 2010 goal

Back in the gym as the cold air and rain come in for a few days. Hope to get back on the road Sunday.

34 miles in 30 degrees with no wind and dry pavement. It was great being outside again, until my bottle froze up when I needed it at 20 miles. I also got to try out my $ 44 Ebay'd P7 light. Wow!!!, it puts my NiteRider Minewt 2 to shame at 1/4th the cost.

Only had time for about 3 1/2 miles tonight, worked the pedals hard felt like more. Temp was a nice comfortable 58 degrees, slight overcast, light winds. The ride though short was very enjoyable, wish I had time for more. Well it's better than no ride. I'm finding that with my schedule my daily rides are going to be at night. I'll have to invest in a better headlight soon.

Just rode home from work -- 10 miles in moderate snow just above freezing. As soon as the snow began to stick on the roads, we closed the office, as a potential record storm is closing in on our region. It was a quick, easy ride, as there was very little accumulation.

We are forecast to get at least 24, possibly 30 inches, so it may be a few days until I ride or drive anywhere. I am enjoying resting indoors and watching the world turn white outside. My flight students are cancelled for the weekend, so I have my first chance to totally relax for many months.

I did a 17 mile round trip between Herndon and Sterling. I kept to the roads because the WO&D trail was packed / uneven snow/ice. The carbide studs ate up the 1 - 2" of snow/slush. I even passed a car on one stretch. The snow did sting my cheeks at speeds above 15mph.

Sitting here wondering if I should take the Wahoo out in the blizzard they are talking about on the news. It is getting deeper here in So.Md.
I think I am and just see whats it's like out there now. I am going to ride around the block and maybe up to the Safeway and see what's up over there.
And when it is over tomorrow I can say I rode my bike in a blizzard! Wahoooooooo!!!!!!

Okay.....I heading out after I get all dressed up for it. Maybe I will take a picture too....

Winter has been a bit too cold for my liking so far but today was nice, just a few degrees below freezing. Took my car to where the forestroads begin and had a nice 25 mile ride. I really like the Icespiker Pro tires, they corner very well.

last night at Safeway before the worst of the storm. This morning I can not ride out of the neighborhood yet, over a foot of snow and the street is not plowed yet. I am guessing 15 inches at least and more on the way, snowing now and windy too.. It is a wet snow too so it is heavy. I walked to the main street and believe I could ride on that so I may just do it to play some.

Yes, 1/8 of a Century (12.5 miles) - it was a nice ride before the cooler weather moves in this afternoon (South Florida) - I've lived here most of my life so 50 is frigid to me (lol)...

If I ever have to live in a cold and snow climate (I haven't since a child) I'm not sure what'll happen (I'd probably turn into a popsicle - grape flavor) - I've never driven on snow or ice, so again not sure how I'd manage...

Anyway, after being a moderate-speed (13-15 mph) ride leader for 15 years I fell off the pace, but I've been working my way back to my old metric century mileage - we'll see what happens but it's rough without anyone to ride with (Broward County), still I'm hopeful to be at least able to ride a 31-mile (50 km) ride without any trouble...

The local clubs are too fast for me right now (perhaps always will be - their "slow" rides start at 18 mph, and 15 was and is still my favorite heart-lung speed)...

If my residential street doesn't get plowed I'll have to carry my cyclocross bike w/bionx kit to the main roads - or not get to work. Once on plowed even snowpack it handles fine.
It may be very quite Monday and Tuesday.

I was planning to get in a short ride today, but it started raining just as I started out and I wasn't dressed for cold rain. I'll just have to make it up tomorrow.
