A nice and breezy 40 miles this morning with my buddy Steve. Got about 14 miles into the ride and Steve blows out a tube. Had to use one of my Co2 canisters after he went through two of his trying to inflate the tube. Limped back to the cars and then I took off and finished a 40 mile ride solo.

3 miles on my tricycle after putting the new wheel on all by myself. Then got too busy to ride my bike in the afternoon.

3 miles on the tricycle, 6 miles on the bicycle. Everyone else here is riding way more miles than me, but I've resolved to try to add a little onto my ride miles each day if I can, and build myself up to longer rides.

Absolutely nothing today, my total for the last 7 days is 198.7 miles and with the weather now wet and the sunshine gone I decided that rule#5 could be allowed a day's grace.

Gatorskins are probably the best all-around protection in bicycle tires, but I don't like them. Too heavy, too much rolling resistance. I might use them on a serious off-road MTB, but not on a road bike.
I've found that the Continental GP 4000 ($40ea. made in Germany) are the best tires I've ever used. Good protection without sacrificing weight, low rolling resistance (12.2w), and long wearing. Highly rated.
On my older Tarmac (2006) I have a set of Continental Ultra Sport II tires, a made-in-Taiwan clone of the GP 4000. (A little less protection, 14.3w rolling resistance) Good tires for half the price ($16.50ea.), but not as good as the GP 4000. Just FYI.

18.6 miles today on the Tarmac SL3. Nice enough in the sun but pretty cold in the shade.

Another windy 40 mile ride; this time solo. Got a late start so the wind was already starting to pick up and it just kept getting stronger as the morning went along. Didn't feel like fighting the wind today so it was a fairly easy paced ride.

I'll jump into this thread. I rode ... but I really didn't ride in the way I'm used to ... I rode my brand new from the clearance section 2015 Haibike full suspension pedal-assist ebike.

While it was awesome fun ... I quickly had the thought "dude, this is NOT why you ride".

Not much exercise in it, setting it on "Turbo" and pedaling off. However ... it's primary intention is to allow me to finally bike commute part of the time to work ... without working up a sweat.

But, for the regular rides, back to the regular bikes for me.

I could get so spoiled and lazy so fast with that bike!

Last ride of the week in FL, 30+ windy miles, for a total of just under 200 for six days of riding. Except for Sunday, all were spirited rides with good effort and pace, even in the wind.

No chance for a spin tomorrow, but then I'll be in VA mountains again for four good days in the hills.

That's better than being hooked on cheap fishing line with a crappy old Zebco reel.

Finally a morning with very manageable winds. Hoping to get on the loop and get a really nice paced ride. But wait! We had a local elementary school select today to have their bike-a-thon and picnic so there was around 100 kids, parents and teachers at the park this morning. They were pretty spread out along the loop so doing any kind of speed would have been very unsafe. Even Amanda had to drop her speed from her normal 20+ to around 12 mph. Good thing we have the subdivision as part of our route. 40 total miles for the day.

…Awoke to a cool 45 degrees this morning, with an abundance of bright sunshine. Almost perfect riding weather.
The cooler weather effects my asthma a bit, resulting in a 1mph slower average speed today of 14.6mph for a 31 mile ride. Still able to get out to ride 100+ miles per week. When the temps fall below 45 deg., I suffer the stationary bike at the spa.

41 miles Friday evening, including a group ride and the ride to and from. Overcast, cool but very comfortable, just a wee bit of mist but not quite rain heading home. Felt great, best I've felt since oral surgery a couple of weeks ago and antibiotics to knock out an infection that had wiped me out for weeks.

81 miles on Thursday with many of them into a fairly constant wind. Started to feel a thump-thump so a tire check was done and found the tire off the rim on both sides. After remounting it was slow going pumping and checking and pumping and checking and.....had to stop at 40psi a far cry from the 90psi normally run otherwise the tire started to come off again. The last 18 miles home were sloooooow.

Started at 3AM today for a pre-ride ride. 30 miles on the hybrid and now it's off on the touring Paramount for 70 additional miles.

Today's 40 solo miles felt like riding in a wind tunnel. I was less tired on last Saturday's 80 mile ride with 2/3 of the route going through hills and rollers than I was on today's ride. There were a few pauses in the wind for which I took full advantage of and got some decent speed and a few miles of tailwinds where I also got some sprinting in. Looking at tomorrow's forecast, it doesn't look as if the winds are going to change.

22.8 miles on the Roubaix. I have enough winter cycling clothing (thank you ebay) that the cold doesn't bother me.
Added the loop route I used to take and remembered why I don't do that anymore. 3 busy streets to cross (3 minute lights), horrible path surface, even the one that was repaved this year but it's all washboard. Amateurs!

2016: 4,520m (7274k) Total: 14,141m (22,757k)· Roubaix SL3 Ex 1540m (2478k) / 4072m (6553k)

35 miles on the MUP out to the marina on saylorville lake and back. The ride has its share of rollers. The weather was gorgeous as the weather was in the low 60s. There were very few people since the MUP is supposedly closed off because of construction and the arrival of fall. It's easy enough to get around the few barricades. I'm really digging the Lezyne Super GPS I picked up recently.

20 miles on the ti V3 this afternoon. Very mild weather and smooth roads for the most part, with several miles of nice rollers.
