Yes, I was on the same CM ride, I managed about 34 miles, including to and from home.
Turned around this morning and did another 47 miles, including a breakfast ride with some fast (for me) bonus miles afterwards.

WE finalised the rando season's Petit Year Round Randonneur (PYRR) series. It requires a total of 1200km for the year, made up of rides from 50, 100 and 150km in length. You can do the fifties, for example, in the cold winter months, and make the distance with 150km rides. A bit complicated, but I like the concept for (a) an Audax award, (b) the need for strategising throughout the year to end up with the minimum 1200km, and (c) it encourages riders back into the sport. They also can be made up of Permanents or organised Audax events.
Anyway, we finished the series with a 50. And it was so darned tough... one of the toughest rides I have done EVER. Might seem a bit trivial for distance, but this had some climbing, and all but one climb were into the wind. Wind? Yep, gusts over 70km/h funnelling down the valleys and directly into the face.
And you need to pay attention to 50s at the 15km/h minimum speed... you don't get much time to play with before getting to a checkpoint at 37km, as well at the one at 50km... we just made the 37 one with 13 minutes to spare after being 15 minutes behind at the top of the last clilmb. We finished 12 minutes within the time limit... after the last big climb that featured 9 to 14% grades.

If it's October, it must be the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In commemoration I put on my pink socks along with my pink headband. All last month I rode my steel single speed, so for this month I decided to change over to my multi-speed carbon bike. It's like I forgot how to change gears for awhile today. Anyway, I decided to pedal to the next town over, stopped at their nice big park for a pit stop, and ended up riding 2 hours and 36 minutes.

Just a quick 6¼ mile ride around the neighborhood side streets... Nothing special, but just wanted to get out and "test myself" after getting bitten by a tick on Sep 10th and have been down with a wicked fever, chills, taking antibiotics, etc... But this past week or so, the fever is gone and I'm slowly starting to feel better (knock on wood!). I don't wish this on anyone!

Was gunna ride the older Roubaix today but the front tire is flat. That makes 21 flats this year (over 5 bikes).

46 solo titanium miles today on a club ride starting close enough to home that I rode to the start. The route went south into Morgan County, where the southern Indiana hills begin. A few moderate climbs on the medium route that I did but the severe climbs were on the long and extra long routes.

70 miles on a box route around the county. Fueled by Chex mix and oatmeal craisin cookies. The farms are getting fields ready for winter, but there still plenty of moos hanging out.
I stopped at a small roadside memorial where a bicyclist was killed by a hit-and-run driver a couple weeks ago. The flower displays had toppled, so I set those back up.
Later on the highlight, aside from the red-tailed hawk that flew alongside for a bit, was the coyote that ran, right to left, across the road in front of me. I slowed up, sat up and watched it run back across the road behind me.

7 miles after work this evening. Climbing up Stop 11 hill saw two raccoons crossing the road up ahead. And then, a third one ventured out but stopped when I rang my bell, and scampered back to where he came from.

51 Miles on a cold day, got caught in some rain showers 45 minutes from home. Didn't get very wet, but the roads were wet and my drivetrain got covered with water and grit. Just cleaned and re lubed my drivetrain yesterday.

9 miles Monday evening, just stretching the legs, trying a lower saddle position on the hybrid -- a little knee pain recently and I noticed in a photo of me riding that bike my leg looked hyperextended at the bottom of the pedal stroke.

2 short rides for 17+ miles yesterday. Had to raise my stem 5mm after too much pizza this weekend. I've been at it for 10 weeks now and it is time to taper off for a week or so. Recovering is very different than it was 25 years ago. Saw that picture cankle... your leg did look maxxed out.

Planned departure time of 3AM today turned out to be 3:06AM. As I approached 50 miles things were rolling fairly well so extended the ride to a 62 mile metric century. Not a road burner but happy with 3:51:14 time. Back home for a bite to eat and out again at 8:12AM. Legs were very tight but got better with time. Managed to hook on to a few of the Tuesday AM Riders for a bit as they whipped past me. Finally let them fade into the distance and continued on but the damage was done and so were the legs. Another 62 mile metric century in 3:55:52 as I pulled back into the garage.

Still doing my 5 or 6 miles a day, getting better though as I'm now doing hills, but wow did it hurt at first hahaha. I think I'm going to change my bike come the spring any ideas for what will be a lanky 6'4" aged 64 rider?
