Under a MAGNIFICENT moon my first segment began at 12:24AM totaling 101 miles. Stopped back at the house for a bite to eat, shower and kit change then back on the road for an additional 62 miles.

40 miles in beautiful weather, almost too nice! Today I downloaded two maps for the upcoming Horrible Hundred in Clermont, which is just two weeks away. I think it's about 4,500 feet of climbing on the 70 mike loop. If I'd been able to maintain my August and September pace, 100 would be on my radar, but I'm not sure just now. Lots of riders, and a surprising contingent from Gatorland.

I've had company from Alaska over for the past week so I didn't ride yesterday so I could be with them. This morning I went for a 40 mile ride and ended up doing 48 miles. Rode 18 solo miles and ran into my buddy Frankie in the west parking lot, so I did 30 miles with him. Should have rounded it off to 50 but I had some stuff to do before meeting our guest later this evening.

Haven't ridden Sugarloaf. I still believe Weakley Hollow Road in VA is worse...1.1 miles straight up. It's almost not rideable! But I've been up a bunch of times and can survive it. My only concern is the dropoff in mileage because of travel North to assist in my parent's care. I won't be my best, but I'll give it the college try. And I'm solo, so no distractions.

Rainy day, but there was a period of misting on and off, so I took out the Sutra. Perfect day for fenders. I did notice the weight of the Sutra at first, but it didn't bother me after a bit. I did note it felt good not to have to baby the bike like with the smaller tires of the Wheelhouse and the B-17 is just a great seat. I may look into a C-15 for the road bike. 17.5 miles and it felt great. A balmy 56 degrees with no wind.

49 Miles, it's getting colder, not too bad today 51° but the rest of the week is 40°. Wore my new Pearl Izum jacket today, was too warm and had to take it off, I didn't have anywhere to stash it, so I tied it around my waist.

I ride almost every day now. And when I can't ride outside I get on the trainer and do The Sufferfest. I actually look forward to the suffering now, it really works. (I am not a shill, I'm losing weight and getting strong doing these.)

Near perfect day for a bike ride this morning. I say "near perfect" because I had to put on my arm warmers.
Rode a nice 41 miles with my buddy Frank C. Legs started slowing down on the second lap. I don't think they've fully recovered from last weekend's C2C ride.

21.1 miles (34.0k) on the '06 Tarmac SL. Fun bike. Mostly cloudy and windy but the last 2 miles were brutal, but what-the-hey, it was near the end of the ride. Any day you can ride is at the very least a good day.

Didn't feel like riding, but the sun came out a little and I got in 14.1 miles on the Wheelhouse. The seat will definitely need a change and I will eventually get wider bars, similar to the ones on my Sutra. That is 108 miles on the coldest week yet, so a good start to the off-season. Oh, it does not take long to get spoiled by BRifters!

Rode to work today - 21 miles total. Cool but dry and not cold. Hadn't ridden since Monday.

22 miles on a pleasant route with one small exception. One road, which showed as a connecting road, ended up having about a four foot earth mound about 3/4 of the way in. Seems the locals didn't like the high school crowd using their neighborhood as a short cut to drive to and from school, so the street was blocked off. I had to dismount and carry the bike over the mound. When I got to the other end, I noticed the "No Outlet" sign.

Got a late start when I met my buddy, Frankie, at the park this morning. Winds were calm but they didn't stay that way. We did a nice 60 mile ride with a little too much chit-chat that had us still riding when the winds picked up. I didn't want to have the leg go through the same thing they did last Sunday so it was a slow ride all the way around.

22.4 miles (36.0k). Stayed in the upper 40s, cloudy and windy—a blustery day. Okay ride tho...

Metric century Saturday, my first since September. Doesn't get any easier, and I made it harder by forgetting to restart my cycling app after pausing to meet with a group to tag along on part of their ride.
Actually rode 71 miles with a lot of climbing (well, a lot for our area), but omitted about 7 so I had to tack on another few miles to get the official 100 km on the record. Average speed was nothing special, 14.5 mph, actually slower than my previous 100 kms, but there was a 17 mph wind with strong gusts out of the south making some tough climbs even tougher.
While I enjoy drafting the faster riders I can only hang on when the terrain is flat or down hill. Soon as we hit the first climbs I drop off and can't bridge the gap again. So I usually tag on only for the first 10 miles, then take an alternate route to the same area.
Those group rides seem to prefer a route with lots of rough chipseal. That stuff makes my busted up neck hurt even worse so I take an alternate route on mostly smooth paved access roads. I can see why 700x28 tires are so popular now. Too rough for my bike's 700x23, and the largest it'll take are 700x25. I might tackle that route with my flat bar hybrid next. The 700x42 tires will be more comfortable. That hybrid isn't much slower and it's due more to the more upright riding position than the tires.

Went out for my usual 54 mile ride. It was the coldest it's been yet this year, 41°. After after a long summer of 85° to 95° days I'm not liking the change. Started out with gloves that weren't warm enough, in the winter I carry extra clothes. Changed gloves and 1/2 an hour later my hand's were warm. Beautiful day, blue skies.

Tripled my age + 1 mile yesterday. Split the ride between the Propel 101.1 miles and the 2018 Roubaix Expert 101.4 miles. Fantastic day for riding.

Saturday - an easy 9 solo miles with a couple of small hills and then 10 tandem miles with no hills. Good to get out after three days with no riding.

Looks like a ditto from yesterday. This morning I drove to the grocery store, and noticed lots of moisture from the fog and the drizzles along with lots of wind driven leaves on the roads. So for safety I'll just stay at home, watch more TV, and cook and eat. I'll have to work it all off next weekend.
