Yesterday, Day 11 of #30daysofbiking , rode 14 miles on the tandem. With my stoker.
Today, Day 12, overhauled front hub of stoker’s hybrid. Then, I got out for a ten mile solo ride on a sunny breezy afternoon.

20 miles on the first real ride of the year, and plenty of hills.

Today on Day 13 of #30daysofbiking we rode 39 tandem miles on a club ride starting in Pendleton, IN. Mostly very rural and pretty danged flat. Not complaining.

First Saturday River Ride in months. Was fully expecting to get dropped but I didn’t, so that was great. Yay low expectations!

23 mi on really windy day. Rode with grandson for the first time. Expected that he would run circles around me - ops - the other way around. Looks like it will be a long time before he can stay in front of me.

5 mile ride today in between rain showers.

Two trips today, exploring the banks of the North Saskatchewan River.

Remnants of ice pushed up on the riverbank after spring breakup.

The largest chunk of ice I found - almost 2 feet thick!

Day 15 of #30daysofbiking - rode 16 miles this evening to and from the monthly board meeting of our cycling club.

So I finally got out this AM on the Roubaix 9 days after massive cramping during Cross Florida. Slow going, nice and easy, not too fast and still just barely fun. Cut the ride short at 51 miles and been chilling out for a few hours so it's time to kit-up and try for another 50, if I don't fall asleep on the saddle.

Stung by a wasp and cycled on but only for another 41 miles.

92 miles would seem adequate. Good job.

22 miles this afternoon on Day 16 of #30daysofbiking . Rode up Fox Hill off Mann Road in Morgan County for the first time this year. Deceptively challenging climb.

Clear blue skies, low humidity, tailwinds and freshly paved asphalt. A winning combination for a fun 70 mile ride............until you go and leave your one and only water bottle sitting on a bench, 15 miles away!?!?!?

Last night on my close-to-me double dead end route I dub my private greenway because of the low traffic that's my every day late afternoon ride unless I get home too late or something keeps me away. The setting sun really brings out the copper color of my newest old bike, the '75 Schwinn Continental. A great training bike and fun to ride.

And later on in the day got out for a 7 mile solo ride. April showers coming the next couple of days.

JanMM 04-18-19 02:16 PM

Got out for a mile-and-a-half ride around the neighborhood today between showers. Then, maintenance/adjustment in the garage for an hour.

OldTryGuy 04-19-19 04:10 AM

Had to get out before the BIG WINDS and rain showed up. Slow going again but still managed to make it to 52 miles.

horatio 04-19-19 01:11 PM

Got in an 18-mile ride with my oldest son early today, before the storms came through. Just like old times, just a lot slower.

As part of the Society of Three Speeds 'Adventure April', I needed to get in some gravel. Problem: about 15 years ago, my county announced they were going to pave every country road in ten years. The local gravel bike intelligentsia pointed me to an obscure little strip of land at the edge of the outer, outer tier of suburbs. Out and back the Huret Multito rolled up 7.1 km of gravel. Four challenges down, one to go!

A 15-20 mph NNE wind couldn't keep me from riding today, the warm sun was calling. I did a 21 mile clockwise loop a round Lake Geneva, Wi.

22 mi at 10 mph avg. Plan was for 50=60 mi but 15 - 20 mph winds and open farm land killed that idea
