Hello everyone... I’m about 49 and three months, so technically I’m cheating when I post to this forum I guess.

But, in my defense though, I was a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic for over 18 of my 49 years, and anyone who has ever worked in that field should agree it ages you about 7 years to every 1. So, in that respect I am somewhere around 139 years old, which feels about right some mornings.

I also like pie, and totally understand the concept of the pie ride… Apple is still my favorite, but peanut butter is coming in a close second.

So, hopefully I won't get kicked out... But, if I do I"LL BE BACK.

The ladies here at BF 50+ are classy and sassy. Can't wait to meet her at the Finger Lakes ride in July.

Anyone who's done that kind of hard time is more than welcome, in my book anyway.

Thank you, Louis. I very much look forward to meeting you, too. However, I will be in the Finger Lakes In JUNE with the rest of the group and I really don't have enough vacation time to wait for you to get there in July.

Interesting survey.

325 respondents - a near record, I believe - but I think Tom B's survey got more responses

3.69% 70+

I remember the day in my 3rd grade class when the President was shot in Dallas. The teacher was so upset she could no longer teach. So I do qualify to post here.

Only because you were in third grade then, not because you can remember it.

We are the same age. I can still visualize the scene on our playground at recess when my third grade teacher came out and told us that President Kennedy had been killed.

Geez I feel old. I was married, had a baby daughter, and was working as a TV repairman.

I was a squadron commander (3428th student squadron, Lowry TTC, Denver) sitting in the mess hall - no one believed it at first.

A couple of years ago I got myself a winter training machine and set it up to simulate a time trial, just to see how I'd do. Thinking I'm a fit windsurfer, paddler and so on, I thought it seemed pretty fast... when I checked the time/distance chart, my time came out as comparable to an 82 year old... trouble is, I was 48 at the time! (I'm not saying it was me that ticked the 80+ box, by the way.)

I notice no one is owning up to checking that 80+ box!

This is a public poll, All you have to do is click on any of the numbers of respondents on the poll results itself and you will see how everyone voted.

Excellent! Celebrating many anniversaries seems like so much more of an achievement than just getting old. 36 anniversaries? That's quite an accomplishment! Congratulations!
