The cold, dreary days of May.

Not my most enjoyable ride today. Weather in the forties and cold raw wind. Stopped for a hot chocolate and burned my hand cause the machine in the convenience store was broken and the clerk had not bothered to attach a sign to that effect.

What happened to the balmy days of March?

Sorry to hear that, bro. In the 90s here last week, but cooling back into the low 80s this week. Sunny, a bit windy, but clearly sunburn weather. Come on down for some great training weather if you'd like. The third-to-last shuttle launch is Friday afternoon, so you'd get a real bonus.

My *coldest* commute of 2009 was in early May -- it was rainy, and 40-ish degrees, and I was dressed for spring.

This year I learned my lesson -- got up this morning; it was raining and 43 degrees. I just dug out the winter gear and rode comfortably to work. Nice "winter" commute today...

Cold but sunny here - tomorrow morning it will be 33 degrees for my 6AM ride before work.
At least this weekends metric will be 74 degrees and sunny - we had crappy weather for the past two years on that ride, rain and 50 two years ago and 40 and cloudy last year.

Cold and dreary is par for the course in NE. I wonder why the NE coast doesn't have the same reputation for rain like the Pac. NW does--Boston gets about the same quantity of rain as Seattle, just not as constantly (but often enough).

Snowing here in Reno now. A couple of weeks ago, I did a three day ride from the Bay Area to Yosemite and the third day we had to put chains on the SAG vehicles to get into the park.

For a long time, May has not been a nice month in New England. Typically, it's cold, cloudy, raw feeling, and gritty. Freezing rain is not uncommon in the higher elevations, such as the Worcester hills. Sometimes we get lucky, and some real nice weather rolls in for Memorial weekend.

Fourth of July, 1986: It was in the fifties and raining! Yep, it was one of those rains that was just steady and cold. I think it was the first time in decades that the town of Natick, MA cancelled their Fourth of July parade.

Well I AM in Nebraska and can confirm the widespread dreariness. I forced myself to ride with weather in high 40s and drizzle today. Wind goes without saying, of course. When this ends I'm sure it will shoot straight into the 90s.

The same here, it's been raining everyday. I only had one ride day this month and that was last Sunday.

Yup here in Lincoln Ne its cold and rainey. I really hate to bike unless its 65. I spoz its going to be like it was about 4 years ago. May 31 was cool and wet. June 1 it was 90 and stayed that way all summer.

COLD!! today, had to break out the "winter coats" to catch the bus today! It's been pure YUCK here in So. Colorado lately, infact it was "SNOWING" for an hour this morning but that's gone away, thank goodness! Summer can't get here fast enough, I'm sick of the "GRAY"!

Being a keen gardener- I notice the lack of rain that we are experiencing in the South East currently. Temp has been down to frost level at nights but warms up to around 45 to 50 F in the day time. Doesn't feel like it due to the Northerly wind blowing the Ash Cloud down from Iceland.

But next week is promising- up to 60F and a southerly breeze so you might be able to fly to Europe if you want. That is if the ash is not coming your way and you can get out of the US.

Central Florida MS150 this weekend. 72 at 7:00 AM and close to 90 by noon with pretty high humidity. Summer is here, we didn't really get much of a spring. I hope it warms up/dries up for the rest of you so you can get out and ride.

That's me, here in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies. Except we're getting snow instead of rain. 6 inches yesterday, another 4 today. I think it's snowed at least one day every week this year. I can't help that nagging feeling that if only I hadn't bought that new bike in February...
