What a weird sport. Tonite I got my butt kicked by a 75 y/o lady but got to pull a cute hippy chick along. Good times.

Last Friday in Western PA, on a deserted country road, one of those red neck drivers slowed his pickup truck enough to pull along side and say "get the ***k of the road *******". I gave him the usual single digit salute and referenced that he should have intercourse with himself. A quarter mile up the road he pulled over to wait for me. I don't pack heat, like some of the 50+'ers claim but am considering for future rides in the area in spite of the added weight. As I pulled up to the POS pickup I, slowed, pulled up directly behind and took a picture of the license plate with my cell phone. The guy saw what I was doing and bolted in a cloud of dust and gravel. Yea, I'm bad ass and not stupid as my wife says.:D

Sweat drippin' days are here, makes one glad for an ice cold slice of juicy sweet watermelon.

Discretion being the better part of valor. :thumb: I started carrying a little pepper spray bottle with me just for such occasions.

Finally got back on the bike last night and went for a hot sticky ride, at about 10 miles checked the garmin and realized I never hit start. Don't you hate when that happens? Best guess is alittle over 21 miles.

Nice job of thinking your way out of a sticky situation. :thumb:

You know, that makes sense. She had this weird look in her eye. It was creepy. I bet she got one of those testosterone patches: "You know, Doc, it's for my husband, he just doesn't quite function like he used to". The doc fell for it. TMI but I actually had my blood levels for testosterone checked, hoping that I would, you know, qualify for one of those patches I could use legally. My doctor said I was in "naturally occurring testosterone storm" and wouldn't prescribe it for me. Oh well.

While driving into work on the usual 33 minute commute I'm thinking how well things are going in my life. Then I start questioning myself why I never change the radio from channel 74, B B King's Bluesville. Is it OK to be happy and have the blues?

I don't see why not.

That was a good idea and glad it worked out. A little scary to be honest.
I wonder though if you had not {gave him the usual single digit salute and referenced that he should have intercourse with himself.} done this would he have stopped up the road.

I used to do the same sort of stuff when people did that to me but learned it wasn't worth it when I had a gun pulled on me.( I was in a car when this happened not a bike) I was scared s---less and didn't even call the cops afterwords. I just wanted to get home and get my legs working again, they were having the heebie geebies big time.
Now I just either wave or ignore or thumbs down and move on.

Four club rides in three days. Heat index in the 90's for all of them. The "slow and easy" rides were hammerfests.

I'm wasted. I'm wasted.

I'm wasted.

Sadly, there is a lot of anger out there. Someone pisses you off, put it towards your pedals. We do this because it feels good, not to shorten our lives because someone else is having a bad day.

kr32 06-24-10 07:30 PM

The 32 is back on the road! Woohooo!
First drive I ran out of gas three blocks away from my house on the test ride! *bummer*

Got the new Motobecane Grand Record today...assembly in 45 minutes, wheels true, and components dialed in. All in all I'm very impressed with the bike. A quick ride shows that I need to replace the seat with a Specialized Toupe that I have on the shelf...and while I'm at it I'll replace the cheap seat post with a carbon fiber one I have laying around. Some more fine tuning and I'll be set. I think I'm going to like this one. Even the cheap Sora and Tiagra components seem to work quit well, but they will be replaced with some better stuff I have also.

I rode on the Tuesday night Hammerfest and, in spite of riding as hard as I could and running a dangerously high average speed, got shelled within ten minutes. I should have been crushed but I was too tired to feel the pain.
