The back? I can't believe I forgot to post this:

50 jersey f&Bv2 by ccorlew, on Flickr

The tiny writing on the collar is Latin and translates as:
Through suffering, sweetness.

The thing about going 50+ is it takes DAYS to get the smile off your face.

And an equal time to get your shorts clean.

+1 It is very exillerating--and scary!

Great looking both front and back.

I can't wait to give the one to the sife (my stoker) and starting riding next year with the jerseys on group rides.

We're a bit far from home this week, but I'm sure the jerseys are coming

Best one yet

OK, it appears as though I missed this order cycle.

How often do you place orders for the +50 jerseys and can I get put on a notification list for the next order?

fghhunter 11-21-10 05:47 PM

What's the chance of getting a "60 PLUS" jersey or kit started?

And for Tandemnh-- The 50mph is achievable but only just on a solo but with ease on Tandems- but it does take a steep hill without too many lumps in it.

Think you have an unfair advantage.

Not an unfair advantage... just a very trusting wife!

He says if you can get to it you can have the car that should cover it.

Let's not mess around here - 70+ or bust!!

And, the jersey ought to be presented by the forum gratis to anyone who is 70+ and still bicycling!! So there. :)

I have several friends over 70 that I still ride with along with some a few years shy. I would buy all of them one and one for myself to keep me motivated for 13 more years.

I'll pass on his car it's probably leased!

Midlo Rider 11-25-10 09:49 PM

I would definitely buy a 60+ one if they can be made. After all it is just changing on numberin several places. Would be very interesting to see which one sells the most.

tandemnh 11-29-10 09:42 PM

I probably missed it, but was there an ETA as to when the shirts would be ready? Just curious if I need to actually buy the wife a gift for Christmas...

cccorlew 11-29-10 09:47 PM

I don't know. The est. I got made me think there was about a 50% shot at Christmas. I have the envelopes and stamps all ready. It takes a while to get it all organized when it arrives. I have to beg my wife and daughter to help.

As I recall the order was sent in on 10/27 and it takes about 6 weeks...with any luck you should be able to get it right before Christmas.

Hehe...that too. ^^^

I just got info that makes me think Christmas odds have improved.

Doohickie 11-30-10 01:37 PM

I hope somoene organizes this again in a couple years. When I'm eligible.

I need to make a FAQ. Here's the deal: I thought it would be cool to design a jersey for this forum, so i did. To me, it isn't about my age as much as the spirit of this forum. This is the Plus 50 forum, so that's what I stuck on the jersey. Enough people were willing to risk paying someone they didn't know in advance that I was able to order a stack. Surprisingly enough there's been enough interest every year that I've done a number of orders. That's the story. I have no plans to make a 60, 70, 145 or any other age jersey.

I encourage anyone interested in a different jersey to design and produce it. It's work, but it can be rather rewarding. Go for it!

Too right--I belong to the 50+ Forum--and that is why I wanted the jersey. It is a much prized item for me and will remain so.

(Saying that-I am only 63 so not eligable for the sub- forum that is still part of the 50+)

tandemnh 11-30-10 03:46 PM

Sounds great on the possiblity for delivery. When ever we get it, it will be a conversation point when we are back out riding. I try to buy only 1-2 jerseys a year for the wife and I as we ride a tandem together. This will certainly be one that gets a lot of wear whether we ride together or when I am ridng single. I have some friends apporaching 50 so I bet they will be asking for one next year.
