Well, not that I'm cop of the universe, though I do act like it, bit that's a darn good answer I really didn't deserve getting.
I wish you both well.
Oh, 90 degrees? Ride the bike. If I didn't ride in the 90's I'd miss months of riding in wonderful Antioch-just-like-hell California. (Whoops, Cop-o'-universe kicking in again... sorry.)

I'll ride in 90 degrees too when July gets here and I've gradually acclimated. But, going from around freezing here in Spokane,WA to 90F in Mexico would put me in the hospital if I tried biking. I wouldn't have the sense to stop riding. Hence the nice cooling pool, a hammock in the shade, and lots of freshly picked fruit.
Bye bye belly!

Check out some of the week-long supported bike tours. There seems to be at least one in every state. They are usually inexpensive and well-organized with routes that avoid traffic and often visit scenic areas. I have ridden Bike Virginia, BRAG (Bike Ride Across Ga), GOBA (Great Ohio Bike Adventure), TRIRI (Tour Ride in Rural Indiana), Cycle NC as well as several in Wisconsin run by POWWOW bike tours. I've enjoyed them all. Generally participants camp out, but you can usually stay in motels if that's your preference. Some of the Southern states have tours that run in the cooler months (Florida, NC), but a lot of them seem to occur in June.
