Fireworks by bike share
My wife and I went down to the National Mall to catch the fireworks. That's a bike forums appropriate topic since we rode down on Capital Bike Share bikes. Nice way to go, nice show.

No, it was about 10 minutes down and 20 back (crowds). So far I have never exceeded 30 minutes (in maybe 60 rides) so I don't incur charges other than the basic membership. When I ride them farther than 30 minutes would clearly allow I check in and out of a station on the way so I get 30 more minutes.
For those who are curious about the above - with the DC bikeshare program you buy an annual membership (or daily/weekly/monthly). Individual rides are no cost as long as you return the bike to another station within 30 minutes. If you keep it out longer you incur charges. You can check in and out from stations within the 30 minute window and get another 30 minutes.
