"Oh what fun it is to ride.....
.....before the break of day!"
Sunrise in Charlotte! The Charlotte Light and Museum silhouetted against the day's first light.
I captured this image this morning on my ride home from the "Night Shift". It's not nearly as pretty a Sunrise as we had yesterday, but I had dallied for too long at the Diner on my way home and missed that photo oportunity. I made it a point to postpone breakfast this morning in an effort to be in position for the show. Shortly after taking this pic of the Lighthouse, the clouds completely closed in on us.

What a beautiful sunrise shot Lenny. You timed that perfectly and the colors are stunning.

Wonderful photography. I should get some of the sunrises here on the camera. But I'm not allowed to have one at the facility. I usually see those moments after arriving at work. Thanks for sharing.

It's been awhile since I've gone for a ride before dawn. Thanks for reminding me.
Back in my running days I used to run every morning before work. In the winter time that ment that I'd start out in the dark of night and the sun would rise while I was running. I remember getting a powerful exelleration those days when I started in the dark and finished in daylight.

Very nice picture. My favorite rides these days are pre-sunrise. First of all, they're necessary because I'm a commuter and have early work hours lol -

Thank you all for the very kind compliments.
That shot is one of a series of close to 30 exposures I made over a period of about 10 minutes. I'll gladly take credit for the framing and composition, but the majestic colors are the courtesy of Mother Nature combined with the wizardry of Canon Digital Photography!

Scenes like this are worth hunting out and going to pursue but I just hope it didn't make you too late for breakfast.
