A treat for Cranky!!

On my way into work the other day, I noticed that the Charlotte Lighthouse had been decorated and was lit for the holidays.

Well I finished my work week this morning and for once the sky was clear, all day in fact. As evening approached I packed up my good old Canon SX20is digital camera and Slik tripod and pedaled north. One quick mile later I was greeted by this lovely sight...

To my mind, it is elegant in it's simplicity.

As if the opportunity to enjoy pretending to be a photographer in peaceful but cold weather wasn't enough, I received a second thrill. I was treated to a Moonrise on this peaceful, cold, and clear evening. See? There it is just to the right of the lighthouse.

I couldn't resist cranking this baby to it's full 80x digital zoom just to see what it could do...

What can I say? I dazzle easily!!

Nice. It is always relaxing to find something that stops the whirl of life if only for a moment.

Nice pics Lenny, the moon's detail is great and the definition is super sharp. You take great scenery pictures on your commutes and rides.

Car or biking? While sunny, the temps and wind have been keeping me off the bike. Got out for a bit yesterday and I hope today and tomorrow.
