No, no no.
That is a fad I hope to ignore for a long time.

Liberals tend to like lots of hair so they don't shave their legs. Conservatives shave their legs because that's what the past greats have always done. Liberterians take the approach that if something is good more has to be better so they shave everything.

I'm new, so I hope this sub-forum provides solace for those like me who :-
a. Struggle to get my leg over, even on a bicycle I've owned & ridden for the
last 55 years & on which saddle has been lowered below the demands of
cycling fashion
b. Fall in a great heap with legs entangled in frame when trying to get leg over
c. Do not seem able to remember how to get out of frame once trapped in it
d. Once mobile, manage to ride just far enough to be unable to ride back .....
e. Can still rmember what we did as young riders, & nearly kill ourselves trying
to ride as we did & forgetting the 50 years in-between (until it's too late)
f. Cannot believe how hard & narrow a '50's racing saddle is, or how soft our
rumps have become.

In seventieth year, & still have 3 of my old '50's racers. Now have a house drive
that's 100 yards of 1 in 5 (20% for US readers). That's a challenge before I get
onto the road to anywhere, & has caused me to put gears onto one of the oldies
for the first time ever. Pushing a big fixed gear is tough in the hill country now ....

I'm afraid to think about it. It might involve dredlocks and leg hair.

I actually became a member of AARP at 48, but that's because I married an older woman and the spouse's age doesn't matter.

yes, I looked into it, and was joking with my fiance.... I told her she can be a card carrying AARP member at age 29. She's looking forward to it too, oddly enough.

Speaking of leg hair, I once had a girlfriend who did not shave her legs but she was not a cyclist so it didn't matter.

It all the other forums when they mention "roid rage" they're talking about a consequence of steroid abuse. In the 50+ forum it refers to a particular nasty flareup of hemorrhoids.

^^^^^^

And when we speak of stimulants, we're usually referring to Dulcolax.

I have used that quote many times however having read Churchill and Barry Goldwater I don't think they would recognize most current "conservative" commentators as conservative.

Just my 2 cents. Of course as an old style conservative I will defend your right to disagree with me and not call you names if you do so.
