That's the good thing about the 50+ forum. Because most people's short term memories are rubbish every thread is like a new thread.

Hmm.... do we follow the advice of our current V.P. and use shotguns? I wonder if I can get braze-ons to mount a 12 guage? (One month until the Vernal Equinox, and then all of this foolishness will go away; right?)

I am shopping helmets, I am specifically shopping giro helmets. the highlight yellow/black showed up on a google image search. I posted relevant information to the topic.

BikeForums.net used to be a cool place to post, read get answers. It still can be. 2011-2013 is all Loc4 or loc5 on the giro helmets, some colors changed, but for the most part it's all relevant. Zombie thread? Good information is good information. As for the giro Aeon, the new ones (2013) are $250, yet the 2012 right now are $150'ish on close outs. the difference between the 2012 and 2013 are**********?
anyone posting off topic here know the difference?

To a moderator or outsider it's just going to sound like a bunch of old f**t's doing what they do best -- talking from the wrong end...

Yes indeed.

My old white Bell is now yellow. Threw it out.

Bontrager had one that fit my 7 3/4+ head... one size does not fit all.

Since I've ridden over 200k miles on M/Cs always helmeted I find bicycle helmets a poor excuse for real protection. Just my opinion however.

I almost bought a Bern Brentwood w/winter liner but will wait until May when the Alston comes out. Both are offered in XXXL. Shells are larger so the compression foam is not reduced in thickness. Good thing.
Brentwood looks like a skater's lid, the Alston looks more cyclist like, both offer better protection behind the ear and lower back of the head.
And yes, both are approved for cycling events/racing. Not real aero though.

At 65 I do not need another concussion, TY. The one 40 years ago was enough. How does one know they have been concussed? Ya puke your guts up later. Yuk!

Bell and Giro are shaped differently, inside, Bell has seemed rounder..

Now mergered, they are both in the same conglomerate, now..

I setteled on a New Louis Garneau X-Lite Helmet. Cools well and is very light. (190 Grams) Plus I like the fact that it has very little front brim. It makes it easier to look up and forward when in the drops.
