I am loving riding !!!

I have been riding for about a month. I missed two weeks with an infected knee from a bike wreck and then an upper res infection. I will make my goal of a twenty mile ride a few days later than planned but still make it. And still looking for a 50 mile ride by the end of october. My only regret is that I cant find a helmet for my big ole noggin so no organized rides for me.

Keep on riding !

You will know you have caught the bug if you are still doing it when the weather turns to cool, dark, and wet.

That's surprising. Where have you looked? Have you checked at bike shop as opposed to stores like Walmart?

Glad you're liking the sport, btw. Cycling has done wonders for my fitness.

OMG!!! I'm hooked. I'm addicted to Cycling! I ride all year long--rode in 22ºF(wind chill of 12ºF) one day during Winter. I even saw chain marks on my calf a few times. I don't think I need an intervention though.

@Big Terry

Do try and find a helmet. You really should have one even riding solo.

I would love to have one but my head is measured at 68cm. Largest I can find is 65cm.

You may have see if a company can help, but I bet the helmet would cost an arm, leg, and first child.

You cannot be the only one with a big head and there must be a helmet manufacturer that makes one to fit. May not be the style you want but someone must make one. Plague your Local Bike shops till you find someone to trawl through their suppliers catalogues

And if you are fit enough- then 20 miles will be coming sooner than you think. How do you get fit enough? Just get out and ride but take care of the butt and take a few rest days .

Do you have a hat? If so what size is it? There ae xxxl helmets out there I believe but as you said none are listed at 68cm. 65-66 is about the biggest I have ever seen.

Welcome Big T, I started riding 4 years ago and it has changed my life. I feel better at 70 than I did at 60 thanks to cycling. Trek makes a helmet that goes to 66cm like some have said before you have to try them on there are adjustments that can be made I wear pretty big hats too!
