I am seriously considering them, I have a gift card from one of the LBS and they have the racer fenders that have the mounts attached to them, for bikes like my CAAD. Going to see some Monday, I hate skunk stripes on my kit.

A few months ago I was out on a rainy day and passed a group of 4 other riders. As I went by, one of the women shouted, "How are you keeping your jersey so clean?" Before I could respond, one of the men in the group said, "He's smart enough to have fenders." The woman replied, "I see now Paul. Why don't we have fenders." I couldn't hear his response, as I was too far away.

I actually bought this bike last September so I could keep riding when things got a little messy. But, with the new tires, it's doing even better than I had hoped.

The manager at my LBS had been singing the praises of riding in fresh snow. I was a little skeptical -- but today I found out that (as usual) he was right! This was fun!

My dirty bike before today's ride, after riding through ice, snow, salt, water and salt water yesterday.

We finally got some much desired snow. I'd forgotten so much. As I rode trough the fresh snow, I suddenly noticed how quiet everything was. The frying sound of the studs had stopped. "How could I have forgotten this?", I thought. I passed a large flock of Canada Geese swimming in Four Mile Run. Some had snow on their backs -- they must have slept out there on the water. I'd never known that.

On the way home, the almost-full moon lit up the white world around me. The studs fell silent again as I turned onto the last three miles of the trip. I saw the geese bobbing far out in the water, softly honking to one another.

This is what winter should be.

It was horrible today! I started my ride with sunshine and in the mid 60s and ended my metric century with the temps at a horrific 72ºF. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Don't worry, I'll be riding in the 20s again soon.

I feel for you: all that warm weather and sunshine must get pretty boring after awhile...

Yeh... I couldn't believe Trek painted their top-of-the-line DS primer grey (although they called it "Titanite")... But, I liked the bike so I bought it anyway.

And, the more I ride it, the more I like it.

Fortunately, the color is growing on me.
... But I still can't believe Trek painted a $1,200 bike primer grey!

I haven't ridden through the winter since I was at the University of Colorado 40 years ago. The Mule changed all that by bringing the fun back into winter riding.

Fenders are a pretty tight fit on this, but the work. I had these fenders from a previous bike. If I were to get new ones, longer fenders or mudflaps would be a must. These do not keep the spray off of my feet(better than nothing though).

Bikes: Several bikes, Road, Mountain, Commute, etc.

One of my winter bikes!
Note wool jersey, arm and leg warmers, so it must be winter! Photo taken in Long Beach, CA. I ride fixed gear a lot in the winter.
