Santa Fe! and a new ride!
I did the Santa Fe Century 7 years ago as my first century. Odd as it sounds, even though I've been riding consistently since then, I haven't done another century ride. Well, this year I'm going back, and I've got a new bike to use on the ride ...
... and I'm bringing along a stoker to help on the hills. She doesn't weigh much, and she's put up with me for 28 years, so I figure we'll be okay

Weird set up for the cross chain but I presume it is proven.
100 miles on a Tandem is great-- The flats and downhills are unbelievable and the uphills----------------
Good Luck

I've heard about the drive system but never have seen one until your picture. Nice looking tandem, the ergos on the stokers cockpit area seems a bit long in the pic. Probably just my old worn out eyes. have a blast with the Grand Junction, great choice.

When is the ride? I might have to look into doing that one and also have the one in Taos on my list to do one day.

Have fun. I would recommend you get 2 or 3 more water cages and bottles to add to that for a century.

The daVinci is a pretty unusual tandem, which is one of the reasons that we got it. It has separate chains and freewheels for the captain and stoker, and then a third chain to drive the rear wheel. Kind of a complicated setup, but it works well, and lets my wife stop pedaling whenever she wants -- hopefully not on a big hill. This was pretty much a requirement to get her to ride with me, so it's worth it.

Nice tandem. My wife and I also enjoy riding our tandems. Everyone loves you on the flats, especially if there's a bit of wind, so you should end the century with lots of new friends.

I'll second Bikey Mikeys suggestion of more water bottles. I use a camelback that contains the energy drink and water bottles for water. I would also suggest a seat post mounted rack with a top bag in it for the "Extra" spares and tool you will need as no-one will carry Extra long Tandem gear and brake cables for the rear and you will need the cable cutters to go with them. Spare tubes and we carry 4. Surprising how many you will need with all that surplus weight bouncing on the back wheel. Not derogatory as I am the stoker and if I am not warned of potholes or lumps and I am sitting in the saddle- then a new tube is normally required. To aid the stoker--A Suspension seat post is a necessity but you need a good one. Cane Creek Thudbusters do not come cheap but are one of the best around.
Enjoy the ride but remember that the stoker is "ALWAYS" right. And just in case you forget- a slap on the buttocks will soon remind you.
