Are you kidding me! Boston in late July - it will be too HOT.
Just pull out your skis, it's Feb.

The highest recorded temperature for Boston was 104 degrees in 1911. The average temperature in Boston in July is 82 degrees. Man up.

Yes, gabedad. I'm trying to find the thread. Unless Jim from Boston beats me to it....which he probably will.
Stay tuned.

Edit: See post #13 on this thread!

Jim from Boston is literally from Boston this week, in Baltimore (with bike) to be specific, and I just got to this post. Here are the details of the proposed ride on Saturday, July 27, and some additional suggestions for that weekend:

.... As they describe it: “All rides (8, 26, 47, 62 and 100 miles) will traverse the heart of American Revolutionary history, from Paul Revere’s Ride through Lexington and Concord, to nearby battlefields. Longer rides visit the towns and villages that sent the first Minutemen. After the rides, everyone is invited to stay at Lexington High School for lunch and socializing. Lunch will be provided by Redbones! [A local, well-regarded BBQ joint that’s bike-friendly]. The terrain, IMO, is gently rolling hills.

As the 1974 Dave Loggins song beckons, “Please come to Boston in the (summer) time....”

PS: I was out taking pictures last Saturday, and I snapped this one [WARNING: MAY BE DISTURBING TO SOME VIEWERS]:

That is pure dedication--impressive it must have taken as many calories to put on the gears as to actually ride!

And here I am in the San Francisco bay area complaining about winter!!!

I have such a dislike to cold below 45/50 degrees, it is painful to me!!!

    Enjoy the snow!

From: 25 miles northwest of Boston

Bikes: Bottecchia Sprint, GT Timberline 29r, Marin Muirwoods 29er, Trek FX Alpha 7.0

was at REI at lunch yesterday and found the last pair of lobster gloves, $100 marked down to $50. I had them in my hand walking to the register when I remembered I'm working 7 days a week 'till June so I won't be needing them. ugh

if anyone wants them they are in Natick, MA

if the company I am working for wasn't such a losing disaster my paycheck might be bigger this year instead of smaller and I wouldn't have to work 2 nite shifts and 2 weekend days.

miss the last place. they were profitable, pleasant, fun and within bike commuting distance!
