Bikes: Bikes??? Thought this was social media?!?
Haven't been posting much at all in the last 6 weeks. Partially because of my biking slowing down and frankly I've been tired. The reason for both is the same. I've been helping a friend who farms.
Usually this is pretty easy work. Helping to move equipment or making parts runs. Lately, however, we've been walking soybean fields picking weeds. It's a tough way to spend time as the beans are, in many places, chest high and tangled. Additionally, the temps having been in the upper 80's and 90's with high humidity, after 3-5 hours of that jumping on the bike isn't on the to do list. Mostly I come home, shower up and hit the sofa for a bit before getting up and of putzing about.
On the up side, he buys lunch.

Sounds a lot like work. You need a beer.
How long til harvest and you farmers get a break?

Wildwood-I'm not a farmer , I just help out occasionally. Here in wi some harvesting has all ready started. The rest will start pretty much in the next week or two depending on weather.
I actually like this time of the year. The fall colors are starting and the temps have begun to temper a bit. Its also fun to ride in the combine as my buddy has a jump seat in his. It can be quite hypnotic.

Bought a frameset for fall/winter tinkering.
Thought someone in the Pub might recommend how it should best be built?
Dutch bike fits with my other 80s vintage euro bikes.
Can anyone explain to me please, "'Pass the Dutchie' on the right"

Pass the Dutchie is from a song by a brit boy band. It was supposed to be pass the "kouchie", which is a slang word for pot. The word dutchie, which is a slang word for a pot (think cooking) was a clever substitution so as not to offend the censorious.

So instead of 'Pass the Dutchie on the right',
it should be 'Pass the Dutchie to the right'.
at least in some places.
Hmmfph - Well slap my fenders - nothing to do with vintage bikes at all.

I think it has more to do with the geographic area. There was a Batavian Republic. Dictionary.com says Batavia is an antiquated (former) term for Holland.
I don't really know, any Dutch experts in the pub?

I lost over an hour and half of daylight between Oct 1 & Nov 1.
I feel ripped-off by the southern hemisphere.

I knew a crooked man, who walked a crooked mile;
but now I seen a crooked man, who rode his crooked mile.
he didn't have a crooked smile, and smiled his way thru every mile.
i hope to smile this kind smile, and show it off through every crooked mile.

your thought & comments appreciated.
Please keep it Bicycle related,
as I was on a cross WA ride.
