Noticed the cyclometer on my commuting bike was flapping around, so I finally checked it out. Damn thing vibrated itself apart from the mount, so I had to take it off (not sure I'll replace it ... who cares how fast I'm going on my commute?).

I've only been using it a couple of years or so, but look at the mileage.

Now I know why my car doesn't pile on the miles very fast.

Just hit me also. Rode with my 17-yo sold, and he hauls ahs. So, we chase a Joe Biker guy down the Roseville bike trail, Mr Kit, or what not. We take turns chasing him, but he eventually pulls away from both of us and heads up about a 3/4 mile 400-foot climb hill. Boy pulls away, and I look down at my pedals to take my mind off the pain . . . . And ride right off the sidewalk onto the street, over the curb, about a 10-inch drop. Clipped in. And fall over. So all I can do is stand up and face the oncoming traffic, which is a grey beard Harley dude, and some latte-esque SUVs. So I strike my best Arnold/Conan/ Serpents/Snakes pose, and re-mount.

Rum, BTW is drunk with ice, maybe and this:http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=304155

Zombies, Werewolves, Vampires or ???? What would you want to be? What do you most get the heebie jeebies thinking about?

What about spiced Rum and THAT^? Just thinking about current inventory and its late.

Serves you right for riding - no, racing - on the sidewalk. (Unless it was cyclist designated - if so my apologies)

Really? And we drink this stuff?

Vanilla in high concentrations is flammable. Doesn't stop me from liking it though. I just have to be careful to not get too high a concentration in my stomach! :)

Vanilla extract is at least 35% ethanol, that is why it is flammable. Vanillin in it pure form is a solid at room temp.

Here's an interesting little side note. Did you know that vanillin can be produced as a byproduct of paper? I only know that because I used to haul the stuff out of a paper mill years ago.

Not the stuff I make. Mine is 40 proof though. :)

Hey, it's pi day

March 14th. Be sure to have pi today. Or pie if you prefer.

CraigB 03-14-13 08:10 AM

All I need to calculate the diameter of my pie is a ruler.

Sorry, Bill. ;)

Biker395 03-14-13 09:17 AM

Didn't know this until this AM, but Pi day is apparently also Albert Einstein's birthday. :thumb:

Dudelsack 03-14-13 09:25 AM

I don't see what the big fuss is all about with this pi business. I got me a ruler and measured out to exactly 3.14. All those other numbers attached to it are wrong.

It would be more fiting to measure the circumference, then calculate the diameter using pi. :p

Bikey Mikey 03-14-13 06:07 PM

dminor? Are your first and middle names Toccata and Fugue?

JanMM 03-14-13 07:17 PM

Had some pecan pi today.

RonH 03-14-13 08:30 PM

No ride today. Got a haircut instead. The wife and I had pizza pi for lunch.

Which I could do, if my ruler was a tape.

I love a good prank

First run maple syrup

Visited my cousin in the country as dinner guests last night. They have a half dozen maples lining their driveway, and we were presented with a bottle of their fresh crop.
Had pancakes smothered in it this morning, and oh my! There is nothing like the real thing. I just can't do pancakes if I have to settle for some kind of fake syrup.

Walked in here an hour ago and I still don't know why I'm here or why this here is here. My comments:
1) to paraphrase Lincoln "you can't please all the people all of the time"
2) the Dylan sequel "I'll let you be in my dream if I can be in yours"
3) coffee and rum, separately or together = good
4) that cyriak is one dark, kinky dude!
5) mods, we love you and applaud your ceaseless, thankless toil on behalf of us nincompoops
Now, where's the exit?

I would not care how fast the bike is going either, but I do like the fact that you know how many miles you have put on the bike. That is a very decent amount of mileage you put on the bike. You must have a nice daily commute. It might be worth getting another trip computer.:thumb:

Can I harvest maple syrup from our two silver maples? Or, would it have serious issues, just like the trees?
