Noticed the cyclometer on my commuting bike was flapping around, so I finally checked it out. Damn thing vibrated itself apart from the mount, so I had to take it off (not sure I'll replace it ... who cares how fast I'm going on my commute?).
I've only been using it a couple of years or so, but look at the mileage.
Now I know why my car doesn't pile on the miles very fast.

Do anything stupid on your bike recently?I came back from an uneventful 25 mi ride.Rode up my neighbor's driveway apron down the sidewalk to my house.Going a little too fast I turned onto my front lawn to dismount. My front tire got stuck in the edging area between my lawn and sidewalk.Over he goes clipped in.

Just hit me also. Rode with my 17-yo sold, and he hauls ahs. So, we chase a Joe Biker guy down the Roseville bike trail, Mr Kit, or what not. We take turns chasing him, but he eventually pulls away from both of us and heads up about a 3/4 mile 400-foot climb hill. Boy pulls away, and I look down at my pedals to take my mind off the pain . . . . And ride right off the sidewalk onto the street, over the curb, about a 10-inch drop. Clipped in. And fall over. So all I can do is stand up and face the oncoming traffic, which is a grey beard Harley dude, and some latte-esque SUVs. So I strike my best Arnold/Conan/ Serpents/Snakes pose, and re-mount.

Won't say I never drink coke or other soft drinks, but I go easy on them for a very simple reason. Over the years, I've had occasion to haul extracts and other ingredients that go into these drinks, and some of them are placardable hazmat!!!
Really? And we drink this stuff?

Vanilla extract is at least 35% ethanol, that is why it is flammable. Vanillin in it pure form is a solid at room temp.

Here's an interesting little side note. Did you know that vanillin can be produced as a byproduct of paper? I only know that because I used to haul the stuff out of a paper mill years ago.

Hey, it's pi day
March 14th. Be sure to have pi today. Or pie if you prefer.

Didn't know this until this AM, but Pi day is apparently also Albert Einstein's birthday.

I don't see what the big fuss is all about with this pi business. I got me a ruler and measured out to exactly 3.14. All those other numbers attached to it are wrong.

Bikes: Bike list is not a resume. Nobody cares.
It would be more fiting to measure the circumference, then calculate the diameter using pi.

No ride today. Got a haircut instead. The wife and I had pizza pi for lunch.

First run maple syrup
Visited my cousin in the country as dinner guests last night. They have a half dozen maples lining their driveway, and we were presented with a bottle of their fresh crop.
Had pancakes smothered in it this morning, and oh my! There is nothing like the real thing. I just can't do pancakes if I have to settle for some kind of fake syrup.

Bikes: Enough bikes...for today!
Walked in here an hour ago and I still don't know why I'm here or why this here is here. My comments:
1) to paraphrase Lincoln "you can't please all the people all of the time"
2) the Dylan sequel "I'll let you be in my dream if I can be in yours"
3) coffee and rum, separately or together = good
4) that cyriak is one dark, kinky dude!
5) mods, we love you and applaud your ceaseless, thankless toil on behalf of us nincompoops
Now, where's the exit?
