Actually, no. I've got some old software (Photoimpression) that has three sliders that allow you to adjust the intensity of highlights, shadows, and what's in between. That result is from adjusting the middle slider down. It has a way of increasing contrast without blowing out highlights or darkening shadows too much.

Kinda funny, as I have other photo editing software, some of which even allow you to define any random equilization curve ... but I can get decent results a lot easier with that slider.

All; Wonderful pix of many inspiring descents (and challenging ascents I bet). Much thanks.

It is a sweet road but it can be brutally hot late on a summer's afternoon. I was in the 7:00 AM start group and added the Dawson Saddle climb (and Crystal Lake) so I never saw these guys all day.

I was probably and hour behind Steve and Victor (Biker395) at this point in the day.

Kingfishr, you couldn't have set that up better if you'd spent hours arranging it.

This cow from yesterday's ride seemed unimpressed.

Two photos from this morning's ride. The first is my coffee stop on Penarth Pier with the English coast some 15 miles away. The second is the carton of blackberries I picked in a field on the ride home - my wife baked them in an apple and blackberry tart (pie in the US) for dinner this evening - delicious.

The reason you didn't happen to see Bigfoot is because he's crossed the 49th.

Exactly :-) And in fact the camera was mounted on my seatpost set on auto-timer, so one shot every 30 secs, so I had no clue until I got home and took a look at the day's result.

No one will ever capture bigfoot with a camera. Every picture or video is blurry. See above, even a picture of fake bigfoot is blurry.

My favorite thread. Especially with pictures of food. That dog is fixed just the way I'd fix it. Rare to see the dog longer than the bun!

Looks yummy. My preference would be to nix the relish, add Sauerkraut, and use deli mustard instead of yellow.

It was yummy. It's a "Cosmic Dog" ... served at the "Cosmic Cafe" near the Mt. Wilson Observatory. One of these days, I've got to take a tour of that place. It's where Hubble discovered that what were once thought to be nebulae were actually other galaxies. Here's the view from the top:

We also got another treat. The goal of the ride was Grassy Hollow. The reason? It was Smokey the Bear's birthday, and they always have birthday cake at the ranger station. I probably shouldn't post this, but here we are, looking foolish as usual.

Thanks! It's in LA ... the Ballona Creek bike path. Part of my daily commute.
