Late afternoon riding from Red's Meadow. The road was closed to all but shuttle busses and an occasional camper.

Excuse the thumbnails. Pics of the same mountain (Rainier) this year, and a lake not yet fully melted out.

used a mountain bike to get to the trailhead.

Seeing spots.

The "Queen of the Mountains" jersey is earned by doing three tough climbing centuries in SoCal. My friends here are modeling two of the latest iterations ... and doing a great job of it, I might add.

Hanging with the wealthy 1%.

These buildings always creep the stuffing out of me. They look like something located in Poland in 1943. Any guesses what it is?

Communist flag factory?

Here's a "No, the horse isn't mistreated" sign from my ride.

Jim Beam uses these buildings to age their whiskey. They're about ten miles south of Shepherdsville, KY.

Well, that explains the razor wire around the perimeter, eh?

That's always been my policy.

Great pix up there. And I'm thinking I've got to get over to Washington again soon. Yikes.

This was from our ride this weekend. What a group! We had people leaving at 6AM, 7AM, and 8AM, and the 8AM group alone had about 60 riders. 100 miles and about 10,000 feet, and some very, very sweet descents. We had a couple of guys doing this ride on fixies () so in their honor, I rode it without dumping into my granny gear. I must be losing some weight, as that was easier than I expected.

Here is Steve climbing "Little Glendora Mountain Road."

Excellent policy... I picked up a more compact Sony Cyber shot which is more packable than my Canon and it usually does a good job.

That's such a sweet looking road. Would love to ride it, with a group or without. One of these days ...
