My daughter has been riding to work with me to train for the upcoming Tour de Long Beach.

The ride is really not my bag (too urban, too many people, and too flat), but its for a good charity, and helping my daughter train has been sweet.

Here's a pix of me waiting for her at our meetup point. I dunno ... I thought the shapes were interesting.

There is a really pretty little church next to the mountain bike trails in Vermont (Kingdom Trails network). I thought it was a nice photo op. lol

I'd say that's where the relaxing begins. :)

Was Darth Vader standing behind you???

Was out for a ride yesterday and came across this nice little "hydration station." My guess is that all the drinks would be warm, but if you're out of water and need something to drink, warm water / Gatorade is better than nothing...

Rode past there again today and I noticed the Gatorade bottle wasn't there. Guess someone was thirsty and needed liquids. :)

On another MUP not far from where I took the above pic, you crossover from Indiana into Illinois. This is the first time I've ever seen a "state line" type of sign on a MUP...

On the flip side of the sign, it has Indiana.

The Eastern Sierra Double was last weekend. We had great weather, great company and had a great time. I'm writing up a short trip report, but thought a photo or two would be nice.

The first pix is along Highway 120. That patch of blue in the background is Mono Lake, and as you can tell by the smiles, we have the wind at our back there.

The second is along Highway 6, and we are only a few miles from the end at that point. I love long shadows.

Hey, we thought of you Friday before the ride. Jade and I saw a couple of Bullshifters, and took a pix for you. Hope you got it!

It was a great ride. Perfect weather, no crashes that I know of, hanburgers and ice cream for lunch ... and little or no headwinds back to Bishop. The bugs weren't nearly as bad as they've been in the past, too.

Just gotta finish that trip report. :o

She texted me the pic! I really want to ride the Eastern Sierra again, but it just didnt work out this year. I am riding the Grand Tour DC, and Hemet, and maybe Bass Lake. They have a new route for Bass Lake.

I pleasantly surprised to see an MUP that even crosses any sort of jurisdictional line.

The Silver Comet Trail in Georgia is 62 miles long, from urban Atlanta to the Alabama state line where it becomes the Chief Ladiga trail for an additional 34 miles.

Below is a photo of the state line. My bike is in Georgia and the camera is pointed toward Alabama.

I know. It's far sunnier in Morecambe . . . . :)

For the longest time, it didn't...at least not officially. It was just a dirt path between two paved sections (one in Indiana and the other in Illinois) for many, many years. It's only been within the last 4 to 5 years that it's been fully paved, and from what I've read, the signage went up either late last year or early this year.
