Nasonex = steroids beware

My doctor prescribed nasonex for my allergies. After 3 days of using it I noticed short term memory loss, headaches, heart palpatations
and joint paint. I went online and found that it is a steroid and there are many other people who experienced very bad side effects. Luckily I
stopped using it after 3 days. Some of these people report really bad effects like stroke, Bells palsy, and vision loss.

I'm not a doctor but if you are using this product I advise you to google nasonex side effects.

Try quercetin for allergies. Works for me. Available at any health food store.

I need it a little during the spring when the weather changes. I'm careful not to over use it (every 2 days tops) and don't have problems if I stick to that. If I use it too often it makes my sinuses a little raw.

Sometimes while in Texas I had to resort to kenalog shots in the nose (also a steroid) just to be able to cope with allergies down there.

I'll have to look into the quercetin.

Do yourselves a favour and get a neti pot. Best thing for the sinuses.

I've done the steam thing (not with those though) and it works marginally for a short while. I've dealt with this all my life, not so much in some parts of the country as others. It's not convenient throughout the day for serious cases of sinusitis.

I've been taking 2 squirts in each nostril every day of one steroidal nose spray or another for over 20 years. The only side effect I have noticed is the ability to breathe despite the allergen infested air of central Georgia and the allergies I inherited from my dear Mother. Flonase has been the most effective version and is what I currently use, along with a generic version of Zyrtec. I also flush my sinuses with saline every morning. Without this regimen, I don't breathe so well.

Always a good idea to read the drug information pharmacies give out with prescription drugs. Of course, may not include less-common or rare side effects.

Neti pot is a solid step in the right direction. I use the squeeze bottle before rides.

Wow that's a lot. I can't do that much myself. My problem is not so much clogged sinuses as it is infections. There was a doctor in San Diego who home-made some kind of black concoction that he stuck into the roof of my mouth for about 30 minutes. It had something in it that they use on boils (started with an "L") and some herbal stuff. It actually worked well out there for the mild ocean-side sinusitis that I got out there but don't know how it might work around Texas where my sinuses were the worst. Ragweed, Maize and Mesquite were what affected me the most. When I rode past those things I could feel the sinuses getting sore immediately.

Kenalog shots up the nose were the only way I could get some riding time to get ready for centuries sometimes when antibiotics wouldn't finish the infections off.
