30 miles at 38 degrees

This morning I was determined to get a ride in even though the temp was 38 when I left the house. It turned out to be one of the best rides of the season. First, the wind was light for the most part. Second, I had taken the precaution of "layering up". And third, I have my new rear sprocket set and chain running nicely and they actually put on one with a slightly larger low gear so now a few of the hills I used to hate are not a particular strain. Add to all this the bright sun and the ocean views and empty beaches and who could wish for more?

I, too, rode this morning. Sun was out, burning off the heavy frost making for spectacular sights at the beginning of the ride. Wind was nonexistent, a very pleasant November ride here in Western WI!

Southern Rhode Island is, typically, not very cold so that riding all winter long is easily doable. But the change from warm weather to cooler seems somewhat sudden. Lately it's around 41F in the morning which at first seems cold but I'm getting used to it and cold air on my cheeks is beginning to feel good. Yesterday I rode 25 miles through a tunnel of golden leaves overhead and on the ground- just beautiful.

Great that you didn't let the weather stop you Sculpton7,

I thought it was cold enough on my commute to work yesterday at 46 Deg.F but you've done far better!

cool, any pics? where in NE are you? I wonder if there is a formula that can be drawn between temperature and miles ridden. for example 50 miles at 50 degrees, etc
