Back on topic, I used to have to use the bike to walk Curly, a lab/pit-bull mix. I could easily hit 20 with his help.

there use to be this 3 legged dog who lived on a hill along one of my rides. Fast little bastard! He would wait for me in the ditch and spring out just as i would pass. He would nip at my heels all the way to the crest of the hill. He did more for my climbing ability than any coaching i ever had!
