Up here in NH, if we only have 6 more weeks of winter, it will be a short one. It looks like it will be mid-april this year before the snow is gone

As long as we arent getting snow and subzero in March it will be good. On March 3 it was -28F here last year. Never did get up to T-shirt weather until the last weekend in May. Cool summer to match.

Someone needs to frag that groundhog hole.

Out here the Orange Tree saw it's shadow so that means 6 more weeks of "winter"...then the temps will shoot up to 95.

The Wisconsin groundhog that bit the town's mayor on the side of the face showed just what the rodents think about being rousted out of a warm burrow for some lame slow news day article.

Well, our water frogs croaked their heads off starting eve of January 26th. I'd say spring is a comin' 'round the corner.

When I saw the title of the thread, and before I entered it, those were my thoughts as well.

In the last two winters, March has been the month that seemed to have the most days too crummy to ride. (Which for me is pretty much under 60.) The winters were relatively mild, but they just didn't want to end.

Yeah, I've never been sure if "6 more weeks of winter" is supposed to be good or bad. I'm pretty sure it'd be "good" for me.

Anyway, he's supposedly wrong 60% of the time, so although it's fun to follow the media hype, flipping a coin would be more accurate.

A fairly popular internet gag this year is a picture of a wolf or fox staring into the camera with the caption "The groundhog just said six more weeks of winter. ... So I ate him." I believe Bill Murray made that suggestion too at one point in the movie!

That was revenge for what the mayor of NYC did to his cousin last year.

Probably too political, but couldn't resist.
