Bike stand?

I want to get a bike stand for the garage for Mrs. Jones (the Masi) and possibly the Globe (although that has a kickstand). I want the stand on the floor, not something that's wall mounted. Be nice if it would be sturdy enough to hold the bike when adding air to the tires as well.

Lots of choices on Amazon. Anyone care to make a recommendation (or steer me clear of something)? Thanks

I just lean it against something.

If the only maintenance you're going to use it for is adding air, I agree with oldnslow2, just lean it against something. If you're looking for an on-the-floor storage solution, I do like the Rakk linked by JanMM (I don't particularly care for the Rakk when adding air because it holds the tire securely enough that it's a little bit of a pain to get the valve in the right position - I usually roll the bike off the Rakk, then lean it against something to put air in the tires).

Yes, but not a major or even medium issue and only for the rear wheel.

I hang the bikes upside down from bicycle storage hooks screwed into the garage rafters, which still leaves room for car storage and serious car work, such as timing belt changes.

I add air when I take a bike down to ride it, and just lean it against a wall or a car bumper while pumping up the tires with my trusty floor pump.

Between me and my son, I have 8 bikes, 6 hung from the ceiling and two on the ground. I also made hooks to hold 10 wheels.

I also fit my car and lawn equipment in a one car garage. If I had them all on the ground i'd need a 2 car garage.

Bike stand or bike storage stand? If the storage kind, this ==> Feedback storage stand. If you mean a bike stand for doing repairs, I have the Park Stand PCS-10.

any advantage using a stand with a bike that already has a kickstand?

It's vertical rather than leaning at a angle.

I made one like this, only a double for two bikes. I also ordered a double bike stand to put at our weekend get-a-way. The one I ordered was cheaper than the one I made out of PVC. $35 for the PVC and $25 for the one ordered from Amazon. I like them both. I also have one of those space bike racks that lean against the wall and holds two bikes.

Oops, you jumped on that one a little too quickly, Deege. I think that I have a couple of those that I'd let go pretty cheaply but the shipping cost might turn into an issue. I have a couple that hold the bike up by the left crankarm. I like them a little bit better but I can't find one in a catalog.

I'd be curious to hear your thoughts after using it for a bit.

We have five bikes. Four hang from hooks mounted in the studs of the garage and the fifth is always in my Park repair stand. Works pretty well for me. I can't imagine using all that floor space.

Would love to see a pic....that's got to be 1 crowded "1 car" garage.....

Not that crowed.

5 are hung, 2 under the workbench and one leaning against the lawn mower.
