Help comaring bike geometries
I am attempting to compare my TriCross geometry to a SuperSix Evo, both in 52cm. Based on each manufacturers stack & reach measurements there should be a substantial difference between the two (Duh). I'm attempting to use the Bike Comparator Excel spreadsheet to visually see the differences. When plugging in the numbers from Cannondale's website the spreadsheets calc of stack & reach is within +/-2mm of the published specs. However when doing the same for the TriCross the stack & reach numbers outputted by the spreadsheet aren't even close to what Specialized published them as (roughly +10mm for reach & -30mm for stack from published numbers) and makes both geometries much more close.
*edit: I just took some detailed measurements on my TriCross and they correspond to what Spech has published for stack & reach. So I am obviously doing something wrong with the spreadsheet. Hrmm...

Well that is the plan. But I went to one of my local shops and he suggested the 50cm for performance as the 52 has a long top top, when in actuality it has a shorter top tube than my current Tricross. And since they didn't have a 50, 52 or 54 in the shop I couldn't even try any out. I was just looking to visualize it for myself using the spreadsheet.
After I hinted that I didn't want an extreme saddle to bar drop that the 50 would likely give me and that my current TT is longer than the 52 (by 2mm), he suggested a different brands 54 at about 1.5x the price of my budget. Nice bike, good price, but not gonna happen.

the models with a component pick downgrade may save you money and get closer to your diminished budget..

Thanks, I'm already looking at 105. This shop really wasn't interested in ordering something, just trying to get rid of floor models it seems.

Sat on a 50 at one of my usual shops and it felt a bit small off the bat. They didn't have a SS in 52 but did have a left over 2015 52 CAAD10 Ultegra 3(in team colors no less) and I didn't feel stretched out on it at all, felt pretty good - dare I say better than my current ride - for the few laps around the lot I did. I need to go back with pedals and kit and take it on a proper ride.
