Hi

I'm interested in the Dahon Curve D7, seems like its only available in Asia (Japan, Singapore) I'd be willing to have it shipped from overseas if I can find a reputable dealer or contact.

I've sent emails to several dealers in Japan and Singapore with no replies and or they likely don't know English.

Appreciate it!

Thanks

As an alternative, you can have a bike shop replace the three-speed SRAM IGH on the original Curve with the eigh-speed Sturmey-Archer X-RF8 IGH.

The OLD is supposed to be the same, it provides a gear ratio of 325%, and the added benefit of getting rid of the derailleur that comes with that Shimano RD-FT35 seven-speed version of the Curve.

Sturmey Archer | X-RF8

I Have seen the 7 speed Curve in Thailand and it looks very nice..I also see many 6 speed similar sized bikes in Thailand..Chevrolet make 7 speed 16 inch wheel bikes which are very common throughout Thailand..
Just an idea ..contact Bicycle Hero in Korea..they may be able to help you?
If not think about a Flamingo bike..They are imported into Singapore or perhaps direct from Taiwan..Products - GRACE GALLANT ENTERPISES CO.,LTD. FOLDINGBIKE-FL-BP01-7..

If you did buy a Dahon Curve 3 speed I would think about a 5 speed Sturmey Archer hub or a 7 speed Nexus..or 8 speed Alfine....I would avoid the Sturmey Archer 8 speed..not heard a lot of good about them...and I do believe you would need a small front chainwheel for the Sturmey 8 speed..

I agree about getting a 3 speed and upgrading the rear hub to an 8 speed. Well worth it, and no rear derailleur.

I did the conversion of a D3 to a Sturmey Archer "D8". This is my main bike for commuting. Took it on a 5 week trip to Europe in summer. Let me know if you have any questions.

The Nexus and the Alfine hubs have too wide of an OLD for the Curve D3 (120mm).

I'm running a 46 tooth chainring with a 25 tooth sprocket on the Sturmery Archer 8 on my D3 and the gearing is perfect (for me).
