Regular spare parts for Brompton?

Does a Brompton from 2006 require the Brompton tires and inner tubes as spare parts? Or can I buy regular 16" tires and inner tubes from other brands?

It depends what you mean when you say regular.

I think you are talking about size, not brand. There are several sizes that is celled 16" in bicycle tyres and rims. The most common one is the size that is used on most 16" childrens bikes and most 16" folders, like the Dahon Curve. it is called 305

The Brompton use a 16" size called 349

There is no way those two can be used on the wrong 16" rim. Maybe the tubes if you are in serious trouble but I would not count on it.

If you want to buy tyres and tubes for any bike just look at the side of the tyre for the right size. Then order that.

There is tonns of info about tyres and tyre sizes for Brompton on the net. Searching is much quicker than asking.

Bikes: 2011 Jetstream P11 Alfine; 3sp Presto-Lite; Occasional Access to 6sp Brompton

The tyres that are fitted to Brompton at new are quite high pressure I think, maybe you need to consider that as well as the size when looking for replacements.

So finding spare tires and inner tubes for a Brompton in bike shops and hardware stores is much harder than for most other 16 inch folding bikes?

You are very unlikely to find suitable tyres in a hardware store, but any modern bike shop should be able to help you out, and of course you can order online. It's a good idea to always have a spare inner tube available.

Depends where you live. Where I live we could not find it in my country some years ago. Mail order only. Now I can buy them if I travel 2,5 hours total one way so 5 hours total(most of it by train).

Here they do not know what a Brompton is if I bring it into most bikeshops. They think it is a broken childrens bike

This is the small wheels you find in the shop I used to buy mine from: https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/tyres/

St Sheldon is mentioning four different 16" sizes here: https://www.sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html

Edit: And you do not buy bicycle tyres in a hardware store do you- unless you are stranded??

If you find anything it will be the most common sizes, 26", 20" perhaps, not 16".
