Serious question about building access with folders

So I just found out that the tiny company I work for is likely to move to a high security building in downtown NYC. This could be a big problem for me if I want to bike commute with a sweet folder (see my other thread). So my question is, has anybody ever had any trouble getting a folder into a building? I'm very upset by this development, because I'm getting really excited by the idea of a slammin' folder.

If you want to be sure you get it in the door, make sure it looks nothing like a bicycle. Get the dahon bag and use it - it will just look like a (somewhat lumpy) canvas suitcase. plus, if it gets grimy, you won't be sliming up others in the elevator. just don't ask to do it or mention it unless pressed - and even then say it's bike parts for reasearch or something. a guy in my office uses one without hassle and the security is really tight -- they are fascists about regular bikes. and don't lock it up outside. it will eventually get gone.

[btw, I am not stalking your posts, just bored today.]

Haha, stalking indeed. I appreciate your advice and experience, believe me. Your post makes me feel a lot better. I figure a don't ask, don't tell policy will get me in the door, so to speak (what awful metaphors, no?). I was thinking I'd need the bag anyway if I am to ever throw the thing in a suitcase or backseat of a car.
