Second hand Dahon Speed P8?

Hi,

I am looking to sell my Dad’s old Dahon Speed P8 bike which is no longer required. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a price estimate for it? It’s in good working order. Also I’m not sure how to check which year it is from. Is there a way of doing this?

Thanks in advance!

Where are you located? Mentioning condition requires some pictures, but you need 10 posts before you can post some. Also, what year is it from?

I’m in Scotland. I have no idea which year it is from. It says Chromaloy (?) on the frame. I’ll have a better look and see if I can find any other details. My Dad was a bit of a collector so I’m guessing he bought it and didn’t use it much at all.

If you price it too close to what a new one costs; buyer most likely will just buy a new one.
The whole idea of getting used is to save; even though you take a chance since most likely
it will be out of warranty.

Year can be guessed by the color/design. Also/maybe by the serial number.

I know this is off topic, but when are you going to post some new videos? Reviews, rides, tour stuff, etc. Great to watch on a rainy day!

Been busy with work lately. Mon - Fri; some Sat too. But the biggest obstacle was when Microsoft stopped supporting their free movie editor.
I was so used to it; I can get ready uploading pics & clips in 15 minutes. Now that software doesn't work; I had to learn a new program. And
also with the 4K/ultra HD format; much slower going. And couldn't use my old laptop anymore; not enough computing power.

Wanted to upload my roadtrip to Greenville, South Carolina for a long time. My favorite shop(BFold) is willing to lend me their hardware for
testing; eTern Vektron, Gobike efolder, electric scooter, eBrompton(when it comes to the US), etc. Some possible future trips; Eurobike 2019/Germany,
Taipei Bikeshow 2019, etc. This year will be the last for the New York City Century; will try to do the 100 mile route on either my Bike Friday pakiT
or Brompton.

We'll see.

I'm not a fan of this bike. I had a Dahon P8 that cracked in half at the weld near the hing after 8 years of light road use. No crashes or unusual impacts. I have pictures, but I do not have permission to post.

You can post pictures after you have 10 posts so a couple more and you can show the pictures to us. It says you have 9 posts now. Roger

Dahon Speed P8 frame cracked after about 8 years of light road only use. No crashes or unusual impacts. I believe it cracked because the bike was not well made.

Please post pictures of the entire bike. From that pic it appears to be old and abused.

In general, I won't buy anything used unless it is less than half new price, assuming great shape, due to no warranty, etc., usually lower than that on a bike due to component wear, improvement in component specs, etc.
