I paid $350 for it which I thought was ok...they sell new for over $800...the dropouts are 120mm...I thought they would be more..

That is in great condition and a really good price too.
Check out some things I did to mine.
Put in a 8 gear hub
Dahon Curve D3 upgraded to 8 gears with a Sturmey Archer X-RF8 (120 OLD)
Switched from silver to black components
Dahon Curve "D8" upgraded from silver to black components
Welcome to the fold!

Hey...I’m liking the mods you have done to yours.....I like the black components...I really love this bike so far..and want to do some more mods......i have already replaced the bars with black Easton’s that are a couple inches wider...and ergon grips......I will be putting on a brooks saddle...and am considering detachable aluminum pedals...maybe upgrade to Shimano deore brakes...i would consider a rear hub with more speeds too...will the Shimano 8 speed nexus or Alfine hubs fit this bike?....I would also like to replace the cheap plastic chainguard on the front chainring..do u know a replacement for that?....I’m amazed at the reactions from people as I ride by...puts a big smile on my face...

A fine looking machine! I just landed another Dahon myself, a 2003 Mariner D6. Like you I plan to upgrade.
Keep us posted on your progress. Every time I take my 2002 Helios out for a ride, I get questions and comments as well. Really wows them when you bring it inside all folded!

Good find. I snagged one off CL
Pump had bad hose and wheels needed tubes, but o/w OK. (ew,Slime)
Check the SN# with Dahon for the stem recall.
I am not sure how they fail but they have been good about replacing them and it is an easy swap out.
Keep an eye on adjusting the headstem, regardless
Watch out for the seat tube cap getting loose and pump dropping (that's what took out mine)
They are a bit hefty and poky(um, relaxed), but have a cush ride with the BigApples
It ain't a brommie, but it ain't $1500 either
Line up a spare tube source, as they are not real common, and have fun
Pretty bulletproof bike

I replaced the stock seat post/pump with LitePro one. It was then that I realized that the seatpost pump was the source of the mysterious rattle when I rode.
16" (305) is a common size for child bike wheels, so easy to source at shops that stock kids bikes

So I got the new handle post from Dahon...mine was a recall...with shipping and brokerage fees it cost me $72 which pissed me off a bit but I guess it gives me peace of mind for safety and in case I ever sell it..was an easy install.a few minor differences in it from the old one...I like it better

Well...I wasn’t actually charged for the handle post itself...the charges were for the shipping plus the dealer charged me $25 for their service...it’s a personal choice if you want to check if your handlepost is on the recall list of course...your bike looks great by the way!
